For a movie from a guy you've never heard of, starring people you've never seen, War Path is a definite crowd pleaser. Great writing mixed with fantastic and memorable performances from the entire cast in this indie film remind us that sometimes lens flares aren't necessary to make a good action movie. If you like stories that throw you in with the wolves, be prepared to embrace the hitman's underworld in this gritty battle between responsibilities and matters of the heart.
I really enjoyed this revenge action film. It had all the deception and blood and humor to keep me guessing what's coming next. Lissa Keigwinn is great as Elena. Micheal Uimari is scary as hell playing a tough crime kingpin. Gary Nohealii carries the film as iron tough Joel Carrero. If you're into bloody action films, the quick pace and good performances by the cast will keep you guessing what comes next.
I'm not normally the type to watch indie films, especially with the varying quality that can come with it. However, I saw War Path on the advice of a friend and greatly enjoyed it!
Plot-wise, it won't change the world but it fits comfortably in the Hitman-gets-revenge genre and has a labyrinth story that mostly answers the questions it puts forth, even if it can get a bit convulated at times. The story goes in and out of time, so it keeps your interest and juts forward head first.
Acting-wise, the cast is pretty strong, anchored by Gary Nohealii as Joel, the lead. He's great in the role, holding my sympathy even when he's doing cruddy things and the rest of the cast fills their spots well.
The movie has a lot of fun action, moves briskly, and packs a lot into a brief runtime. Highly recommended!

Stylistic action film with some intense scenes, great characters, and a common storyline that was pulled off very well. Looking forward to more films by this director!

I never leave a movie review until now! This is clearly one of the best movies!
Don't believe the negative reviews I usually can always tell a movie will be predictable by the trailer but not this one. This movie kept me guessing up until the last second.

- Trivia"War Path" began as a music video. In May 2012, Linkin Park put on a contest for filmmakers to make a music video to their song "Burn It Down." Writer/Director Casey de Fremery then directed a video utilizing the basic plot of the movie (Hitman gets revenge on his employer after they kidnap his wife). The video entry did not win the contest but emboldened by the experience, he went about writing a feature length version of the story.
