Did the usual writers all get drugged? I'm always willing to give a show some lee-way, but this episode is a disgrace.
The show in general attempts to be believable, but this episode lost all of its credibility in one sequence.
Short of providing any spoilers, it's disappointing that a show that had worked so hard at building towards a finale, where the stakes are suitably high, would throw it all away in a series of scenes that made me think I was watching a bad comedy.
Finding the keys on the wheel - in the middle of the base - no one sees you? Come on. Do better.
I enjoyed this season immensely, up until this episode. I know every plot point cannot be tied up neatly in a bow. But this harebrained episode was just so farcical that at various points I said, out loud: "Oh come on!"

The Recruit is one series, The Night Agent is another with a different vibe. There was no need to cancel this or that. Especially, when every potential The Recruit's new season would have gotten out every two years or so.
Season 2 was very fun and well-made. Besides its weak logic, but compensating with good acting, intense situations, comic moments and many things to enjoy.
Wish another Network acquires Netflix. That would be for the best. Any contender?!

After finishing the last episode of the second season of the Recruit, i can definitely say that it was not a bad season. The plot was good, the characters were good, the action sequences were much, MUCH better than season 1 and in all, it had great improvements. But it is also in those improvements, that there is a true sense of lack in this season and where you can slowly but surely... see how quickly the cracks seep.
Let's start by saying this: The story is real good and it hooks you really, really well, but while it does... you can't help but feel like you're feeling a sense of emptiness. The emotions aren't there, the fear and peril isn't as emotionally impactful and in all honesty, it's a season that you watch without a care... you just watch as if you're saying: "okay, huh, oh..." without any true feelings.
But it doesn't end there, the plot isn't the only issue... the pacing is just abysmal. Barely anything seems to happen the entire season and you're most of the time just left there, watching what feels like a really bad episode of the Chicago Franchise... but even though i haven't seen it yet, i know damn well that those episodes have value in them. While The Recruit just puts scenes that are just filler, without any real impact or important meaning to the story. And it doesn't happen once, twice or rarely... it happens way, WAY too much for it's own good. Thankfully, this is saved by the fact that when stuff happens, the scenes of action are really, really good and the dread of the peril is felt without fail.
And i guess if i had to add, the season is just... lacking what season 1 had. Nothing feels exciting, things happen and... happen, any logical connection doesn't seem to exist and all in all, the season just makes so many mistakes in it's pacing, plot and... overall season.
Conclusion: Though this season improves over the first and the story, characters and stakes are really well done. The season lacks any kind of... emotions, feelings and while it feels like it wants to do more, which it does... it also lacks severly and makes so many mistakes, leaving you after the final episode with a sense of... nothing. It's amazing when it wants to get into action, great when you see it's improvements, awesome when the plot develops... but also extremely mediocre and flat when you realize... that this season really is a pain to watch after a while, no matter how hooked you are in the plot.
8.5/10: Perhaps if a season 3 gets born... things are gonna be better, since the ending does leave you desiring for answers. But... for now, i'll accept this season for what it was.

I can't wait for season 3, so hopefully they announce its renewal soon. I REALLY hope it gets more episodes because this season was not long enough. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about this season, but I ended up loving it because it gave us something different than your standard American version of spies. I'm sad we didn't get to see more of Terrence, but I LOVE that we see more of Lester. I actually loved the dynamic of Owen, Lester, Janus, and Jang. I didn't realize how much I love both Lester and Janus until this second season. Please, keep the dynamic with the boys going. They're so funny. Looking forward to watching the next season, hopefully sooner than another 2 years.
I absolutely loved Season 2 from start to finish. The last episode had some great moments, and at least there isn't a major cliffhanger keeping me in suspense for the next two years. I really hope this show is renewed for a new season, because it's up there for one of my favorite shows Netflix has produced. Season 2 offers so many more new stories and possibilities.
Noah Centineo continues to do a fantastic job as Owen, and the rest of the cast does a phenomenal job too. Honestly I just wish the season was longer! Definitely going to rewatch this series because it's so good. I haven't found another show with this style and action. 10/10 recommend!

- TriviaThis episode's title (I. D. N. W. T. B. D. I.) -as spoken by our fearless hero Owen -is slightly inaccurate. Owen actually says, "I do not wanna be dead inside" but the acronym better reflects proper enunciated English, "I do not want to be dead inside."
- Quotes
Owen Hendricks: I don't wanna be dead inside.
