Probs the best of the season and i'd put it with the best of season 1.
Brilliantly acted, you can just feel the crazy in every scene of the antanogonist.
Charlie seems more determined to save the day and the writing is better than the last few episodes.
It's a fun ride to see it unfold, unlike some of the previous episodes where it felt like it should end sooner and got a bit lost in the sauce.
I would also point out this episode is for the people who like dark humour as they really 'take the cake' with the childhood trauma jokes.
Some of the characters are a bit wooly and lack development or believability.

I thought I was imagining things, but obviously filmed at my private parochial school in the Bronx! Looks at bit different from my time there in the 70s, but I recognized lots of things. Love this series in general. I think I liked season one a bit more, but this is a great series! The first five episodes of this season have been good, but I am not crazy about how Charley shows up later in the episode. Creepy little Stephanie could have been a student at that school for real back in the day! And they haven't changed the floor tiles in the bathroom since 1976! Anyway, continuing on to the next episode.
One of my favourites of the show. Best Poker Face.
This had no right to be this good and funny. So many great jokes that made me laugh out loud. The "that's socialism" line was so perfectly executed. Stephanie might be the most diabolical kid I have seen in a long time. What a pig-tailed demon!
Loved the plot, and loved the humour. But loved the visual storytelling even more - how we didn't see the adults' faces when it was told through the children's perspective, and vice versa, and how the children were again in focus when Charlie came down to their level - that's some brilliant stuff.
And this one also had the typical Rian Johnson social commentary on classism. 30 grand a year for this primary education! What a scam!
"We are gonna need a bigger boat."

I hated this. I gave it a five cos like - it wasn't bad, it was arguably some of the best acting and writing this series has seen so far, but I find Natasha Lyonne cloying and grating and it takes a of perseverance (and truthfully some world class cameos) to make me persevere.
But as a boy bullied by several girls at school as a kid? I hated the fact that nothing really happened to the villain. They tend to go very easy on females in this show, to the extent that it almost feels like reverse misogyny in places - and in this episode; honestly I couldn't even finish it, it was too upsetting a journey for absolutely zero consequence for the villain.
I guess this placating is just a reflection of the nauseating times we're in.

This episode checked all the boxes and went up high to win the gold star competition, but in the end the wheels were spinning, Charlie's Plymouth Barracuda seemed to fly off the bend -- only to land in a brilliant spin back on the track that fate had destined for Charlie.
Charlie's abilities and the tricky relationship between truth and lies didn't play a major role here, instead Charlie's unwavering good nature had to pass a tough test, which found its final opponent and master here.
Big compliments to Eva Jade Halford and Callum Vinson, who were perfectly cast! These are names to remember.

- TriviaThe angle of the filming from the child's perspective in the same manner as the Peanuts comic strips to where the adults are cropped out. Presenting the kids as the main characters and adults as inconsequential.
- GoofsAbracadabra is not "an onomatopoeia". Onomatopoeia is a word that is formed from the sound it describes, e.g. hiss or sizzle or bang. Stephanie's supposed to be a genius, and is aware of the word, so you'd expect her to know what it means, and that a word cannot be described as "an onomatopoeia".
