I think they should have hired someone else to play the mother of George Lopez in this supposed to be funny comedy show. In actuality she comes across as a very hostile stranger. And it's not funny. It's actually a bit surprising that he chose this horrible actress who is given hostile racist comments throughout the whole series. Even to her own grandson. And then calling her ex-daughter-in-law a white w****. It just wasn't funny the whole thing. I think there could have been better choices. Also the character Junior comes across as extremely annoying and not funny at all. George Lopez should have looked a little bit beyond hiring his buddies or friends in real life and put in funnier characters. Also I would have gone lighter on the mother scene. The hostel rageful racist angry not funny stupid comments and actually very highly abusive comments to her own son George lopez.
Started to watch Episode #1 and turned it off when it got to the part where George's friend emails his p___s to someone and then shows the picture of it to George.
Although the warnings at the beginning of the show said "suggestive content" and "language", we surely did not expect such foul/obscene actions. We are thinking of letting the sponsors know of our decision not to watch the show, or use their products.
We HOPED that this show would be more in line with his previous show "George Lopez", where he was a family man working in a airplane parts manufacturing shop...WITHOUT the extremely heavy suggestive content and language.
George, we're very disappointed and disgusted in the fact that you've lowered yourself and your values to this degree. We can now understand why our younger generations are the way they are, where they curse in front of children or use suggestive sexual advances to young children. And as two of your "previous viewers", it's not as though we are prudes or are not about the same age as yourself. It's because WE have moral standards to uphold. Old time comedians never used this tactic to gain notoriety or laughs, yet they were hilarious and well though of (e.g., Red Skelton, Red Buttons, Danny Kaye, Carol Burnett, etc.).

I Love George Lopez and if he'll come up with another show I'll definitely give it a chance. But this show is just awful and not remotely amusing! I LOATHE that mother character! Her lines are so badly written, she comes across as the most hateful person who is just violent and mean!! She is vile and I can not stomach watching her! None of the characters have ANY chemistry! And I agree with the previous comments, the content seems to be going for some kind of shock value; but they are not pulling it off! Don't try to "fix" this show; it's already left a bad impression. Rather be smart and know when to step away, find creative writers and a cast who has chemistry. For the love of George's reputation take this off the air and give him another show!!
Saint George is amazing. Those who don't like it don't seem to realize that Saint George actually truly represents a Mexican family. It is not fake most Mexican families such as my own and many of my friends have a similar family member to each of the characters. This show and others are not the reason for the current generations problems it's the parents faults. The parents are the ones who allow them what they can or can't watch so why blame a show which you could easily block from the TV. And the show never said it was made for children, George Lopez's live comedy acts are more mature than the show it's not meant for children. Therefore it makes the perfect show for an older audience.
I'm not opposed to raunchy or edgy humor. I love "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "Archer," two shows which are proudly aggressive in their adult humor. The problem with "Saint George" is that it feels like a traditional 3-camera, live audience family sitcom where someone decided to graft on the most unfunny "adult" jokes into the script even though they just don't fit the style of the show. (Actually, they wouldn't fit ANY show because they are just so immature and lame.)
If George Lopez wanted to do something different than his previous show, he should have made this a single camera show like "Louie" and work with writers who know that style. Or he could have gone the "Modern Family" route, emphasizing the multicultural family. But if he wants to save his current show with the least amount of work, he would do well to ditch the childish "adult" humor and simply embrace the family-safe sitcom style that this show really wants to be. It also appears to be what Lopez's fans want.
