    Same ole' same same ole

Sorry but im done with movies recycling the SAME ideas OVER AND OVER again.I started out hopeful and then it was all downhill from there.Just boring boring. The storyline never lifted off the ground, characters were just thrown in there and as one reviewer commented, this was neither horror nor thriller...it just was..in defense of Miranda Cosgrove this movie is neutral enough that her Nickelodeon fans can watch it and not be scared..you know like your ten year old can watch this and there'd be no issues with being scared..just some very quick blurry glimpses of what i guess must be the girl who's a ghost, but not a very exciting ghost. If you're doing housework or home alone and looking for something to have on in the background this is the movie for you!

    Short but not sweet.

Lame, routine horror about intruders that appear to have no faces. Not too scary to say the least. seek out many, many better examples, if you are that way inclined.

Meh intrusion to the horror genre

Most of the time, I think Brazilian translation messes up the title of the movie - for The Intruders, a free translation of the BR title is House of Fear, which is okay -, but, this time, I think "The Intruders" is really out of tune with what this movie's story really is. Add to the mix that the story is meh, and you get this 4/10 (meh) stars movie.

The Intruders (2015) follows Rose, a teenager suffering from the loss of her mom, that moved with her dad to a new place, trying to start over. In true "monster in the house" fashion, the new house hides some secrets, and soon Rose starts to doubt her reality and safety.

Miranda Cosgrove as Rose does an okay job in the acting department. Though cringe, she is somewhat convincing as a brat.

But the real problem is with the Rose character. For a main character, she is missing likeability. Yes, yes, one could argue that Rose is dealing with trauma and all, but wouldn't it bemore interesting if Rose was fragile and eventually grew to become stronger? In the story, however, Rose is quite strong already, and a nagging bi**** that does nothing more than complain all the time and shut off people from her life. We grow to dislike her, and that's never a good sign.

The plot is concerned with two main arcs: is Rose going dellusional, and what happened to Rachel Winacott. The first arc is really minor and is not explored in-depth. The second arc ends up being a complete disaster, having more holes than a Swiss cheese. When the final revelation sets in, the main villain is so laughable that we just don't care anymore, we just want to get to the end quickly. Luckly, The Intruders (2015) is only 92-min long.

The cinematography department is professional enough, but the PG-13 decision is lame, and, for that, in the end, we get our fair share of "light killing", if we can even call it that. Sigh...

Overall, if you are looking for a movie to watch with your kids, and your kids happen to like some horror stuff, this is the movie to watch. It has some jumpscares, it has some suspense, it has teens.

    Now, recommendable? Not really.

    Same old, same old.

Not entirely sure how to categorize this movie. It's definitely not horror or a thriller. Most likely someone's idea of suspense. Too bad there wasn't a true suspenseful moment.

I would not recommend this movie. The story is really nothing original as it has bits and pieces from other movies. The acting is nothing special.

Without giving details, it is basically one person has experiences that can't be explained, they are shared with someone else that doesn't believe them. The first person is believed mentally unstable. Nothing new. The extremely slow build-up does not deliver so much as the bat of an eyelash. Not much of a build up at all. Pretty lame actually.

In a nutshell its just boring. If you want to see how boring, knock yourself out. Its a waste of an hour and a half.

    a bit tired

Jerry Halshford (Donal Logue) and his daughter Rose (Miranda Cosgrove) take possession of an old house. Her mother recently died and she is struggling with mental issues. Her new neighbor Leila Markby (Jenessa Grant) has a creepy dad (Tom Sizemore). Noah Henry (Austin Butler) is the hot construction worker fixing the house.

The tone is depressed especially at the beginning. That has something to do with the lead character's mentality, but it also has to do with the horror filmmaking. Everything is a little slow, a little tired, and not that scary. There is a mystery to this house and Rose. I'm not that excited about any of this. Miranda Cosgrove continues to try and find her way post iCarly. Austin Butler turns into the bigger star for now.
