The first few episodes of this movie were beautiful. The style was very cinematic and nostalgic, full of emotions that pulled the audience into the memories of the two main characters. It felt like watching an old film, full of meaning and quiet sadness.
But as the story continued, things changed. The colors and style started to look like an average online drama. The dialogue became long and slow, and the camera angles felt random. The love story between Ya and Jing Shu became confusing and uncomfortable, like the writers didn't know how to handle it. There were fewer emotional pauses, and the scenes felt rushed. What started as a strong beginning slowly lost its charm.
The two main actors were amazing at the start. But later, their lines sounded like fast-made dramas with no depth. I don't think they acted badly, but it felt like two different directors took over and broke the movie's rhythm.
Still, I must say the writers did a great job creating a story that mixes two generations in a natural way. If there is a second season, I really hope they show more of the background and setting. The focus was too much on the actors, and the world around them felt small and closed. The movie takes place in Beijing, but the beauty and richness of the city were not shown. Even the countryside felt limited - just a river, a house, and the workplace. Nothing stood out.
In short, everyone worked hard, and there were many good parts. But as the movie once said: "Is it truly worth it to make a movie when the heart is missing?"
