A new customer, Frankie, offers him moments of sanity as he deals with a self-righteous coffee snob and a hypocritical DJ who has turned his shop into a morning rave. New employee, Cash Munny, tries to understand the word "irony".

Michael and Meaghan take steps towards finalizing their divorce. Michael tries to accommodate a Tattooed customer who thinks he's in love with her and an Actor Influencer who is trying to convert the coffee shop into an acting studio.

Michael's new friendship with Frankie is tested and Michael's influencer customer base is getting progressively more entitled and more out to lunch and out of touch with reality.

Michael discovers Grounds for Happiness has a new phone app and his friendship with Frankie starts to blossom. A Gamer Influencer takes over the shop for a private event.

Michael is in trouble when a new customer decides to start a protest, sit in, with Cash as his trusted ally and then A 420-obsessed customer tries to fix everything with his medicinal ways.

Things start to develop further between Michael and Frankie, and also with Nick and Meaghan, who both want Michael to contribute in a weird way to their wedding.

Grounds for Happiness is now attracting international visitors and they are no less hypocritical and entitled than Michael's local customers. Meaghan's parents get involved in healing Michael and Meaghan's relationship.

Michael's in laws continue to make things difficult and Cash decides to open a bicycle repair service to the menu. Frankie, Meaghan, Michael, and Nick all grow more confused about their relationships. Cash develops feelings for Frankie.

The wedding is back on for Nick and Meaghan and they come to Michael and his regulars for help to make their special day, special, including using Grounds for Happiness for the reception.

Michael is finally aware that he wants to be with Frankie, and nothing is going to get in his way. Everything looks like things are finally going to be alright for a change, until a visit from family changes everything.
