Sarkeet - A small feel good emotional drama with realistic performances

    Rating - 3.75/5

A small feel good emotional drama showing the pure realities of life on the backdrop of Dubai through exceptional performances.

The story takes us through the course of life wherein a young man struggling to build a livelihood accidentally meets a highly impulsive child and how their beautiful moments turns out be a life altering realisation for the child's parents.

Thamar has pulled off a beautiful movie showing the complex realities of life through the perspectives of the main characters in the movie and the way he has layered the story through a realistic narrative through hard hitting dialogues is highly impressive. He has portrayed wonderful instances in the story giving the audience few moments of self realisation and underlines the fact that pure souls still exists in this universe. The filmmaker has shown the struggles of the NRI mallus in this movie throughout intricate moments.

Exceptional delivery by Asif and he continues to impress the audience through his pure performance and how perfectly he emotes the emotional scenes through his eyes is beyond words. Impressive performances by Deepak and Divyaprabha as parents and they perfectly conveyed the emotions. Orhaan as the hyperactive child did a brilliant performance giving umpteen moments of fun and laughter and Thamar has etched a splendid combo of Orhaan and Asif. Swati,Gopalan & Prasanth Alex also made notable performance in the movie.

Aeyaz has perfectly captured the visual beauty of the Dubai streets with Govind's magical music and BGM's and the way it hooks the right emotions in the audience is on point. Hats off to Sangeeth for weaving an emotionally moving family feel good drama. If you have watched out 1001 Nunakal,I vouch this movie will definitely not disappoint you.

A must watch movie giving some emotionally intense moments of realisation on the beautiful journey of life.

A Quiet Storm of Emotion: Sarkeet is a Heartfelt Exploration of Family and Neurodiversity

Plot Overview: The story centers on Balu (Deepak Parambol) and Steffi (Divya Prabha), a couple grappling with the challenges of raising their son Jeffron (Orhan Hyder), who has ADHD. Their lives intersect with Ameer (Asif Ali), an unemployed man facing his own struggles. The film delves into themes of empathy, human connection, and the complexities of family dynamics

Performances: Asif Ali delivers a compelling performance as Ameer, portraying vulnerability and resilience with depth. Orhan Hyder's portrayal of Jeffron is both authentic and moving, capturing the nuances of a child with ADHD. Divya Prabha and Deepak Parambol provide strong support, effectively conveying the emotional turmoil of parents in similar situations.

Direction and Cinematography: Thamar KV's direction is subtle and realistic, avoiding melodrama while highlighting the emotional core of the story. The cinematography by Ayaz Hassan captures the essence of the Gulf setting, grounding the narrative in its locale.

Music: Govind Vasantha's music complements the film's tone, enhancing its emotional impact without overpowering the narrative

Final Thoughts: Sarkeet is a heartfelt film that offers an intimate portrayal of familial bonds and the challenges of raising a neurodivergent child. While it may not break new ground, its sincerity and emotional depth make it a worthwhile watch for those interested in character-driven stories.

A Soulful Journey Through Dreams, Struggles, and the Challenges of Parenthood

Sarkeet is a simple, emotional, and beautifully made film that touches your heart in a quiet way. Right from the beginning, the movie sets the tone with a small incident shown along with the title card. This clever start gives you a clear idea of the mood and emotions you can expect throughout the film.

The songs in Sarkeet are very enjoyable. They bring a fresh feeling and help you connect with the scenes better. The background music is also well done-it blends smoothly with the story and never feels too loud or out of place.

The movie has two main storylines in the first half. One is about Asif Ali's character and his struggles to find a job in a Gulf country. The other story follows Deepak, his wife (played by Divya), and their child who has ADHD. Their daily struggles are shown in a very realistic and touching way. The emotions in both stories are portrayed naturally and reach the audience without overacting.

However, the first half does feel a bit longer than expected, and the second half moves slowly. But if you are emotionally invested in the movie within the first 30 minutes, you will enjoy the rest of the journey.

All the actors have done a fantastic job in Sarkeet. Asif Ali truly shines in his role-he perfectly captures the pain, hope, and silent struggles of a common man chasing his dream abroad. His performance feels very real and relatable. Deepak and Divya deliver strong and touching performances, especially in the emotional moments. The child actor is a standout too, giving a very natural and moving performance that stays with you.

Director Thamar has created a small but beautiful film that will definitely appeal to family audiences. If you enjoy feel-good movies like Philips and the Monkey Pen, then Sarkeet is the perfect choice for you. It's a movie made with love and care, and it shows.
