There were a few christmas ones that were alright but not great, but I really liked Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas movie and I this one really inspired the first segment of the Movie and it was focused on Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck that they want Christmas to stay forever and Now It's Mickey's turn and this is pure Disney magic. Mickey's character is amazing just much as he was from 25 years ago, Minnie is Mickey's girlfriend and reasonable, Goofy is being silly as usual, Donald is full of holiday spirit and gets to mishaps over his bad luck, Daisy has the voice of reasons and got some Sas, but not as sassy as she was which I am okay with, and Pluto is Mickey's Best Friend. The animation is at a perfect pace for the character's expression and story plot is amazing.
If you don't remember Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas, they had this plot about wishing for Christmas every day, but with Donald Duck, Daisy, Scrooge McDuck, and their nephews Huey Dewey and Louie. The only core difference here is that it's Mickey Mouse with the sensational six all together, and he gets the wish from a fountain instead of a star.
Other than that, this Mickey Mouse Christmas special isn't really a bad one, but nothing original either. My only other issue is that it feels like it's aimed at a younger audience once again just like the last few Mickey Christmas specials that came on Disney Channel, but I will admit this one feels less like a special that belongs only on Disney Junior than the others. It's not as bland and childish and has some heartwarming moments. I'm not a fan of the songs, but the CGI is also fine.
Overall, as an adult Mickey Mouse enjoyer who enjoys the older hand-drawn modern-classic Mickey projects like Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas, House of Mouse, and Three Musketeers, this definitely could be better, but it could also be worse. I just think Disney needs a new team for anymore non-preschool Mickey Mouse content that isn't made by their main studio.
