    Painful

Wow. I registered to IMDb so i could write this review. First series ever that I couldn't get through the first 10mins of. The intro was so painful, the character so annoying and storyline so unrealistic. Who in their right mind would stay with a person like this, much less want to marry them. He let her go on a rant condemning everyone who was close to them. Even if they do end up engaged, who would want to go to that wedding. I fast forwarded to see if it got better... only to be confronted with more whining and more verbal diarrhea. Sometimes characters talk a lot and whine.. but they come across cute. I don't know if its bad writing or the actresses take on the character that has made this show painstakingly annoying.

I think it will get cancelled soon and if not then NBC will lose sh!t loads of money for nothing

The Show is okay , but honestly i don't get what is the idea. I do have a problem with casting Casey Wilson ,, she's so intense ,, i don't really like that type of acting, i'v seen her in Happy endings and she was the same , like this is really who she is !!! there is some funny bits but i find it more family genre than it is comedy. the writing needs to get better if the show intended to survive yet even then the character Annie needs to do some attitude changing. i actually find the character of Gil "John Gemberling" and some times " Ken Marino" are the funniest,,, especially in the episode of their Bromance :) In my own opinion i think it will get canceled soon and if not then NBC will lose sh!t loads of money for nothing.

massive increase in quality after episode 3

the first episode was pretty funny, the second was stupid. the third wasn't very good. consider those episodes working out the kinks. episodes 4-17 are hilarious. if you liked happy endings then consider this the successor. the biggest problem with the show is the character Gil. hes immediately uncomfortably weird, they don't ease you into his character. he has a flamboyance that would work better with a gay character. his crazy, and general character usage is reduced after a few episodes which improves the show. he is off putting but if you stay with the show he grows on you. Gil and Denna's platonic partnership is awesome. the show is now dead, i blame it on a rocky first few episodes. but this is definitely a great show that's not to be missed.

    Funny, witty and heartfelt

Marry Me has been made by the people behind Happy Endings, and it shows it too, with its irreverent humour, charming dialogues and excellent cast (for the most part; I'm not too sold on two of the supporting characters). I'm one of the lucky people who live in the UK and got to see its series finale, and I must say, the whole show has not disappointed. It started off a little oddly in the first episode, but it set the tone for the show, which does, essentially, revolve around the main couple and still somehow escapes the 'romcom' tag. Later episodes end up improving the jokes and the characters, and you find yourself smiling throughout.

While the show was cancelled after only one season, the writers seem to have had enough time to prepare for the cancellation and have ended the story on a high note and tied up most of the story lines with a neat bow. The finale was a lovely callback to the first episode and singlehandedly made me change the rating of this show from 8 to 9 stars.

With just 18 lighthearted episodes, each about 22 minutes long, the series is perfect for binge-watching over the summer if you have nothing else going on.

    A breath of fresh air...

This is a romantic comedy about a longtime couple who decided that it is time to tie the knot and become engaged. What seems like an easy task though, proves itself to be a nightmare, mainly because of the nervousness of the soon-to-be bride.

The script (based on the pilot) is brilliant. The dialogs are fast, clever and well written. The awkward situations follow one another but in a funny and not an annoying way as in some other comedies out there.

This is a really enjoyable show. The main actors and the supporting cast are very good on bringing the good script to life.

Overall: A rom/sit/com that feels fresh and funny and also emotional and sweet. Recommended!!
