"Roderico 'Rocco' Espiritu Jr." (Xian Lim) is a spoiled young man working at an advertising agency who just landed a big project. Instead of using the down payment to invest in his new advertisement, he and his two friends, "Javier Jakobsen" (Empoy Marquez) and "Mik Antonio" (Martin Del Rosario), get drunk and spend the rest of the night gambling. The next morning, he learns that he owes a large sum of money to a loan shark to cover his gambling debt--and it's due within a couple of days. Luckily, his wealthy grandmother, "Lala Avelina Corazon" (Pilita Corrales), has set aside a small fortune for him in a trust fund, which will be available once he turns 25, just a day or two away. So, he's not too worried about paying off his debt or funding his advertising project. However, when he goes to claim the money, he's told he must be married to access it. Needless to say, he's pretty disappointed; but while discussing his problems with his friends, Javier suggests they could advertise for an actress to pretend to be his wife long enough to access his trust fund. Unfortunately, although many women apply for the role, Rocco can't find anyone capable of convincingly playing his wife and fooling his grandmother. Then, a spirited young woman named "Racquellita 'Rocky' Dela Cruz" (Kim Chiu) shows up and, desperate to pay her family's debts, convinces him that she is perfect for the part. What neither of them realizes, however, is that Lala is quite observant and, rather than simply accepting their civil wedding at face value, demands a church wedding instead--and this eventually creates a problem for all concerned. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this was a delightful little rom-com largely because of Kim Chiu's performance, which she played to near perfection. Admittedly, although it started off very well at first, it seemed to slow down a bit around the halfway point when it became less humorous and more romantic. At least, that is how it appeared to me. Be that as it may, although this isn't a great comedy by any means, I found it rather enjoyable, and I have rated it accordingly.
