Lucy

Lucy is an intense rollercoaster of raw and honest emotion, drawing on the connection between human relationships and maternal nature to create a gripping short. It is beautifully shot, with such a peaceful yet eerily empty landscape creating a pleasant environment for a family day out, which gradually becomes intimidating and bleak once the story develops. I couldn't avert my gaze from Kya for a second, her ability to communicate every single thought and feeling that invades her mind with little dialogue and very few other actors and prompts to interact with is flawless. Lucy is proof that sometimes the simplest stories are the most powerful.

I didn't know what to expect, but as the story unfolded I could feel my anxiety for Suzan and I was totally on the edge of my chair wondering what was about to happen. The emotional range was really well done for such a short film. Congratulations to the director and writer for creating such a powerful piece and to the actress for portraying it. I really would love to see this as a feature whether it be TV or film, just because I want to know the outcome and also the journey of Lucy. I did not expect the ending and feel I want to know more. The location was so perfect for the story and so real.
