Stunning visuals and a unique perspective

The storyline and characters were enticing (and funny and interesting) but I was most blown away by how beautiful the series is- just gorgeous visuals that make you FEEL. I watched the first three episodes in one night and stopped so I could start over with my partner. Love to see queer people, desire, and sex represented in a real and dynamic way. Hope to see more like it.

Seven twenty-ish minute episodes. I'm sure seven was intentional and that there are lots of other significant spiritual bits woven throughout this short series.

Gorgeous and MUCH NEEDED

I was blown away by this series. It was so beautifully shot and so radical. If Luis Bunuel and Lizzie Borden had a baby, this would be it. It's really fresh and radical, funny and tender and, especially now, when the industry is homogenizing once again, we need independent film and TV like this. I can't wait for more form this filmmaker.

Amazing series!

So much praise for The Lovers series, wow! For a series that is set in a time where so much darkness was/is happening (Covid pandemic shut down), The Lovers is truly a breath of fresh air. It is amazing to see a diverse group of Queer Women, Trans, and Non-binary characters in their full beauty navigating life, love, sensuality, and art within these modern times. HIGHLY recommend giving the Lovers a watch - you won't regret it. You will feel empowered by what it means to bravely occupy space as an artist, Queer person or marginalized self. Bravo to Daviel Shy and the rest of the creators on this project!
