Paint the Town Blue

Act 1 of season 2 felt like a reasonable follow up to season 1 and introduced a lot of new concepts that would be interesting to learn more about. But then there's a time skip after act 1, and a lot storylines have matured and changed without us getting to witness any of it.

Because of this, all the suspense that has been built up until this episode just vanishes, and it feels like I have to rebuild the suspense again. At first it was really disappointing and throught this whole episode I was thinking "Why are they showing this?". Luckily, the next episodes in this act reels in the suspense and all that was built up again.

All in all, this episode/act just feels like a setback, but it's still an amazing series overall with absolutely phenomenal visuals and character focus.

I might not be the most objective for giving this rating since I am a huge Jinx-stan, but this episode was probably one of the most beautiful and touching ones in the entire show, which is unusual for the first episode of an arc. From the beginning on, we can see a new version of Jinx and how finally having met someone she cares about changed her lifestyle and her personality. But like Sevika said, she can't just bury her head underground and keep on ignoring everything happening between Piltover and Zaun which is why due to circumstances she's going to have to step in. A very expected yet unexpected thing happens right at the end giving the following episodes a completely new, yet beautiful, outlook.

After the glorious third episode of season two, this one brings us another big character development for Jinx. We learn that there is a sheer cult, forming around her. The common people are looking up to her. She hall bring them a better future. A mighty weapon that she can use... We also get to see the wolf in action. He almost kills our beloved protagonist, but then holds in. Somehow he knows Jinx, or her former identity Powder.

In the meantime Catlyn struggles with her new power and the black lady puts more pressure on her.

All in all another great episode. Especially the animation is consistently on the highest level. The only thing I did not like was the Pop song at the beginning. Why do they have to implement theses songs every episode?

I just had to write a review for this episode after seeing the rating and reading some of the reviews. Yes... I know it's not that low but compared to the previous episode and the episodes to follow it certainly seems a bit unfair to rate this episode a 9.3. It is so well made right from the start, the animation and music is of course top tier but the story progresses a lot and I like where it is going with jinx's character arc. There is just so much to like about this episode.

And of course the ending of this episode is really great...probably my favorite episode of the season...............

Act 2 is here and this first episode is again close to perfect in many ways. I can't believe how good every frame of this show looks. In every other animated show I've seen there is always poor animation at some point but never once in Arcane. The way Jinx and Isha's relationship mirrors Vi and Powder's is so well done. My favorite part of Arcane is all the different weapons and how they work along with all the different locations. I've never played League of legends but know there is a whole lot more characters and locations so I hope they make a new show about those people/places with the same level quality!
