If you've been hearing a lot about the new Netflix original series "Adolescence" recently, I'm not surprised. This dark, troubling, and gripping story of a young boy named Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) who's accused of a grievous crime features four episodes — all of which are shot in a single take — making this limited series a technical marvel by any standard. /Film's own Chris Evangelista declared, upon its release, that "Adolescence" might just be the best original Netflix series in the entire history of the streaming service, and frankly, I'm not inclined to argue with him. Across those four episodes, "Adolescence" explores Jamie's disturbed psyche and, stunningly, makes a huge reveal right at the start: at the end of the very first episode, we see video proof of Jamie murdering a young girl from his class.
Thanks to this, the series is able to explore the motivations behind Jamie's brutal attack,...

David Tennant is a good choice for most of the roles that he is chosen for, be it the malicious dragon knight in Critical Role’s The Legend of Vox Machina, The Doctor, or a muted detective in the British version of Broadchurch. However, the American remake of the show sort of made things worse by keeping Tennant as the lead, just expecting him to change his accent.

While American remakes of British shows (like House of Cards) have often been successful, there have been a lot of times when the American remake just hasn’t been able to live up to its counterpart across the Atlantic. This was the case with David Tennant reprising his role in the remake as Di Alec Hardy, named Detective Emmet Carver in Gracepoint, which was something that failed to resonate with fans horribly.

The MCU is over fifteen years old at this point, which inevitably means that some of Hollywood's biggest actors have appeared in different projects across the franchise as multiple characters. Stars like Judy Greer, Linda Cardellini, Josh Brolin, and Nathan Fillion, to name but a few, are examples of this trend, as is former Jessica Jones big bad actor David Tennant. Tennant debuted as part of the Marvel Universe in Netflix's Jessica Jones as one of the franchise's most underrated and sincerely evil antagonists, Kevin Thompson, aka Kilgrave. This power-hungry madman was responsible for terrorizing Jessica Jones by manipulating her mind and making her do his truly atrocious bidding.
With Netflix's willingness to explore darker, more mature corners of the MCU than the movies were willing to do at that time, David Tennant's performance as Kilgrave left a troubling but powerful impression on audiences everywhere. Then, out of the blue,...

David Tennant is a legend when it comes to British television. While most know him for his role as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, several other notable projects have made him the icon he is. From playing the role of Kilgrave in Marvel’s Jessica Jones to embodying the essence of Crowley in Good Omens, he is certainly one of the most talented actors in television.
While these are some of his best-known works, he has also been a part of a criminally underrated series, Broadchurch. While fans of the series can talk about the masterpiece for hours on end, what better way to find out about how good the show is than from Tennant himself?

The following contains spoilers for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan Season 4, Episode 2, "Convergence," now streaming on Prime Video.
Every season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan introduces new characters specific to that season's conflict, who can either help or hurt Jack and his colleagues along the way. Season 4 has added Michael Peña, who will be immediately recognizable to Prime Video viewers for his supporting role as Luis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Ant-Man movies. People who only know Peña as an MCU sidekick might be surprised to watch him in a more gritty, hard-hitting drama.
However, it's not much of a stretch at all for those familiar with the filmography of Michael Peña. And the character he plays in Jack Ryan is much more than a friend to the hero; he's someone the whole season could turn on. Here's what audiences know about Peña's role in Season 4 and why his character...

Striking writers in New York City said they disrupted filming of FBI: Most Wanted for a second straight day by heading off a planned location shoot at a public park in Brooklyn on Friday morning and later by causing slowdowns of work on the Dick Wolf-ep’d crime drama starring Dylan McDermott and Alexa Davalos at a nearby soundstage.
Union organizers tipped off to a location shoot at Monsignor McGolrick Park in the Greenpoint neighborhood showed up at 7 a.m. Friday morning and waited, but no film crew showed up, representatives from the Writers Guild of America East told Deadline.
It was unclear whether the show’s producers paused filming because of picketers, but WGA representatives said they saw call sheets confirming the shoot there, and they took credit for intercepting it before it could get underway.

Exclusive: Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, starring and executive produced by John Krasinski, has an end date in sight, I hear. Season 4 of the Prime Video action series, which is currently filming, will be its last, sources tell Deadline.
But that may not be the end of the franchise, produced by Amazon Studios, Paramount TV Studios and Skydance TV. I hear a potential spinoff series headlined by Michael Peña as another character from Clancy’s Jack Ryan literary universe, Ding Chavez, is in development.
TV Cancellations Photo Gallery: Shows Ending In 2022 & Beyond
Jack Ryan‘s end and potential spinoff are both a ways off as Prime Video has not set a Season 3 premiere date yet so fans will get two more seasons of the mothership series before it calls it a day, likely in 2023.

Audiences may know Kendrick Sampson from his roles on TV series such as How To Get Away With Murder, White Famous and Gracepoint. But he is probably best known for his role as Nathan a.k.a. “Lyft Bae” in Issa Rae’s HBO comedy Insecure — which is currently in production on its fifth and final season. Sampson is also a very vocal advocate and activist — specifically in the past year.
Sampson has used his platform to launch Bld Pwr, an organization that engages pop culture, education, and activism “to build and train an inclusive community of entertainers and athletes to advance radical social change.” Bld Pwr has partnered and continues to team with grassroots causes and organizations at the intersections of gender, immigration, economic, educational, environmental and racial justice movements.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that “Twin Peaks” changed the face of television. It proved that you could tell serious, surreal, narrative, character-based stories. You could take risks. David Lynch proved that you can shape the stories around interesting characters and explore the most mundane of settings and still create an intriguing story. “Twin Peaks” is coming back for its third season in May — after 25 years — and since then, its legacy has only gotten stronger with a batch of shows that were inspired, for better or for worse.
Northern Exposure
It wasn’t as creepy as “Twin Peaks” — far from it — but “Northern Exposure” draws from some of its more wholesome elements. Nothing too suspenseful or weird happened, but that was the point. Like “Twin Peaks,” “Northern Exposure” was about the characters relatively small lives.

Insecure fans let out an audible gasp when "Nathan with the face!" entered Issa and Molly's "party Lyft" during the season three premiere. Maybe it's his striking eyes or his zero-bullsh*t attitude with Issa's other passenger, but Nathan's character immediately stole our hearts. *Pauses TV, squints eyes, leans in.* Yeah, we've definitely seen him before, and we could recognize that smile a mile away.
Actor Kendrick Sampson, aka "Lyft Bae," proves to be a total sweetheart on the HBO premiere, but he's actually been winning us over on the small screen since his role as Woodchuck on Greek in 2008. Written by Chance co-creator Alexandra Cunningham, Dirty John is based on the articles and breakout true-crime podcast from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard. It centers on John Meehan (Bana), a handsome and romantic charmer who sweeps Debra Newell (Britton) off her feet and pulls her into his web of lies. The series chronicles the true story of how a romance with Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial and manipulation.

With reboots of “Charmed” and “Magnum Pi” on the way, TheWrap looks at TV revivals that never should’ve happened
“Charlie’s Angels”
“Charlie’s Angels” perfectly captured the goofiness of the ’70s, but it felt painfully out of date in 2011. Critics and audiences agreed: It was canceled after three episodes.
“Ironside”
Blair Underwood has done some memorable TV work, starting with his career-making role on “L.A. Law.” But his 2013 take on the Raymond Burr crime drama was yanked from NBC’s air even faster than you can say “Lax” or “The Event.”
“The Bionic Woman”
A 2007 take on the “Six Million Dollar Man” spinoff, this NBC show’s original sin was casting “Battlestar Galactica” ass-kicker Katee Sackhoff as the recurring villain rather than the lead.
“Knight Rider”
Like so much ’80s television, the original “Knight Rider” is over-celebrated. But NBC’s 2008 version lacked even the original’s dumb charms — and David Hasselhoff.
