Maganda naman sya (technically). It is well-made, well-acted, well-written and very poetic. If may rule book for winning awards they followed it religiously.
But its not for me. It's a movie I'll likely forget after watching another 20 films. 390 worthy? Not sure, pra pwede ko na syang antayin sa netflix tuwing semana santa.
Ending felt rushed- after that conclusion scene, all the deep-rooted systemic problems seemed to disappear without proper resolution. The villains were taken out too conveniently, without meaningful encounters, domingo's built-up resentment toward Ruth's father felt wasted.

I'm filipino, I never watch filipino movies that much, but this gave me super emotional when I watch this with auntie and my cousin, this movie change my life!
The director is G. O. A. T this should be recognize in the hollywood shows, and also I love the filter cinematic it feel so alive. The script, actor, the story, music, and the emotional scenes.
It reminds me on the other movie but I don't remember that much but it is similar with this movie but the plot is different. I think it is Green Mile by tom hanks. Yeah it is same called "green" in the title that name it but different. I love it!!!

Directed by Zig Madamba Dulay, the film attempts to delve into complex themes such as morality, redemption, and systemic corruption. However, the narrative often feels disjointed, with pacing issues that disrupt the story's flow. Key plot points are either rushed or overly prolonged, leading to a lack of cohesive storytelling. While Dulay's previous work, Firefly, showcased his directorial prowess, Green Bones doesn't consistently reflect the same level of craftsmanship.
The film's ambition is evident, but the execution lacks the depth and precision necessary to leave a lasting impact. It serves as a reminder that a strong premise requires equally strong direction and character development to truly resonate with audiences.

Green Bones is honestly one of the best Filipino films I've ever seen. Probably one of the best ever made. It has an incredible story and the actors were amazing! Everything, from the cinematography to the acting, was just so well done. The movie is absolutely powerful and unforgettable!
Kudos to the whole team! 👏👏👏

The overall plot is straightforward but excellent execution. Great performances from the actors, you can feel the characters' motivations and their reasoning, the screenplay was well-written and smart, twistingn and playing with the dialogs without confusing the audience, the cinematography was balanced and perfect to each scenario that was happening in the film, the places where it was shot were breath-taking, the direction showed so much juxtaposition that it provided a clear message. It is a movie that deserves the praises and recognition it garnered as it will be remembered one of the best movies in the modern digital age of the Philippines. I hope this movie makes it way internationally as it needs to be shown more.
