Awesome comedy TV show.

Awesome show. Must watch for all the people. Kapil Sharma has always been my favorite comedy artist and in this show too he'll never let you down. There are many other artists in the show including Ali Asgar as Dadi and Sumona as Mrs. Kapil Sharma. The show is very popular in India and even in abroad. A must watch for all the people because life is to enjoy to the full and comedy nights with Kapil will help you for sure. The concept of the show is also very good. Every sat and sun I laugh a lot.If making fun of people who are different and don't look, sound, or behave like your typical Bollywood star is funny, then this is the funniest show i've seen in years.

Laughter! Laughter! Laughter!

What can be a better medication than laughter. What can be a better stress reliever than laughter. This fact is met with truth with this show. With Kapil and Sunil at their brilliance this show won many hearts with its quality content and descent comedy. Hats off to the efforts.

Making people laugh is the toughest job in show business

The pilot episode had singer Mika Singh replacing the position of Navjot Singh Siddhu from Comedy Nights With Kapil. Famous Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene was the first guest on the new Comedy Nights Live which is mainly run by three comedians- Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh and Sudesh Lehri. The setting of the show is exactly the same and it has not deviated much from its previous format. A tribute video on Madhuri's famous Ek Do Teen song was also aired for a few seconds. Krushna, Bharti and Madhuri danced to the tunes of Devdas which featured the actress. Following which towards the end, there was this usual question and answer session with the live audience.

it is excellent show.....without any vulgarity.....a simple family show..

This show is superb due to simplicity.and non vulgar nature. Moreover, celebrity could talk with audience and we get a peek into their life.Definitely ,celebrity open themselves to laughter and express themselves. The comedy King KAPIL SHARMA created a memorable epic above all. Also the cast is simple with out character(that too suits them). The strange questions/demand of audience seems to be exciting. The famous characters like GUTTHI, PALAK, DADI, MANJU, BUAA etc are at center of show and other simple characters are also included sometimes in the show.It must go on to its highest level. It boosted the channel(colors) to its highest T.R.P . The dynamic nature of show and the initial play seems to be fascinating. It has became famous world-wide.

Nope, not that funny

If making fun of people who are different and don't look, sound, or behave like your typical Bollywood star is funny, then this is the funniest show i've seen in years. Kapil makes himself look smarter than the others by belittling anyone who is different i.e. fat, not conventionally pretty, old, short, skinny...etc. The guests on the show - actors and actresses - are celebrated, because you know, they're beautiful, smart and rich. Okay, I agree that we should all laugh at ourselves once in a while but this show crosses the limits. The show is full of sexist, homophobic, classist and derogatory jokes that really aren't jokes, they're insults. Even the audience isn't spared from his "jokes" yet they continue to laugh. I really don't appreciate what the writers and producers are trying to do here. Yes, its a break from the typical Indian serials but seriously, if we want to change the sexist, classist and racist thinking of people, we need to stop producing/watching shows with these hegemonic views.

A bad show.

It's not a good comedy show. Comedy Circus was better. Even comedy nights bachao is better. The show is now off air and it's a good thing. Comedy Nights live is just a bit better. The show was all about Kapil Sharma and He didn't give others a chance to act as he was always there. Sunil Grover and Ali were not given enough time to act. It is like there is just Kapil who is a comedian... others are also brilliant actors but are not given enough time. Hence I didn't like the show. The team is going to be back on sony with THE KAPIL SHARMA SHOW on SONY. This show also contains Kapils name and hence only he will be there and no one else. That would be bad for the show. Plus sony is not that great a channel. It should be a better show.

It's good, but it can be a million times better.

I've seen almost all the episodes of this show. Couple of my friends like it a lot. While it has its moments, its certainly not a laugh riot. The studio audience seem to be the most easily excitable bunch of people. They laugh at anything and everything. It's good for Indian TV though, 'cause at least they're trying something different.

Let's start with the title. 'Comedy nights' ? That has to be the most uninspired name for a comedy show anyone could come up with. It's like calling Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, 'Dance nights' or Saavdhan India 'Rape nights' or Satayameva Jayate 'Aamir khan has something really important to say nights'.

The characters are extremely one dimensional, except for Kapil who is actually pretty talented, but could probably use better writers and producers. A lot of people keep telling me that he is very witty with his comebacks and one-liners and comedic timing, but I think it's pretty formulated (The show is scripted) and relies more on being really loud and talking very fast. But he's a funny guy no doubt.

The alcoholic granny is the most annoying, Ali Asgar is the opposite of funny and tries too hard with over the top performances which are often depressing more than anything else.

Gutti and Palak were funny the first 5 or 6 times they came out and did their bit, with their running jokes and catchphrases, but it gets really old really fast, and the fact that this show is on 11 times a day, everyday, does not help. Sunil Grover (Gutti) has left the show and has joined the cast of 'Mad in India' (A show so bad, it's like if someone wanted to produce a replica of comedy nights but hired a bunch of schizophrenic chimpanzees for writers.) But Sunil Grover's departure allowed Kiku to step out of his shadow and do his own thing. Kiku's really funny and does not need to rely solely on fat jokes for humor. But the show needs better writers to utilize his talent.

The wife, is actually quite attractive and a lot of the jokes about her appearance don't really fit the profile, but the audience laps it up for some reason. Cause, she's really not funny looking. If anything, she's probably just short, but apart from that she's alright, but does not contribute to the humor in any way, except for being a bulls-eye for Kapil to make wife jokes. And while she is good looking, she's not really TV-standard eye candy either.

Siddhu, is the most pointless character on the show. While he is a fun Shayari-spouting Sardar and all, i really think the show could do without him. Sometimes his comments kill some of the jokes. I know he's not doing this on purpose but it's like he inadvertently ends up killing... never mind.

The other recurring characters are easily forgettable and also just serve as human props for Kapil.

The music on the show is God-awful. The band guys on set often miss cues, and often play stuff that doesn't match the punchline or situation or whatever. They get it wrong, right from the show's opening, with the title theme which lacks the energy or pep that you would associate with a sketch comedy show. Sounds more like something from a government sponsored ad from the old Doordarshan.

The show features celebrity guests who come to promote their upcoming movies. It's almost the same routine every time with the guests. Probably the least funny part of the show, especially when they get some spastic audience member to get on stage and dance with the celebrity guests. That's all there is to them.

That covers it I guess. Based on the comedy alone, I'd give it 3/10 but for actually trying to produce a different show and considering all the other shows on TV, 2 extra stars. 5/10

shitty show

what time has come that Indian comedy has gone down to this shithole mockery of women , stereotypes and bloody stupid puns. The show runs on gullibility of stupid people and majoritarian jingoiism. There are way more web series and shows available on youtube and Indian electronic media sucks. The show works on populist ideas and targets middle class people which are the only audiences which it feeds. India with the growing internet penetration will surely give people many more better option than this shittiest show called Comedy Nights With Kapil Sharma. Strongly UNRECOMMENDED . Please I request to Colours channel to stop degrading its content quality and dump this show as soon possible. I think I have given enough reasons to people so that they get what i want to say.

Funny but not exciting

Same old entertainment gossip with nothing new and still people laugh at it. When the show started first it was a new concept and so people welcomed it and enjoyed it with claps and laughter. But when everything remains same for longertime and same artist it becomes boring and people turn away. So new artist and new format is required to hold it's charm and craze.
