I love how it says there is "severe blood and gore, strong language"
So uh. "Abelhinhas" (2009) is often criticized for its subpar animation quality. The film, centered around bees, falls short in visual execution. The animation lacks the intricate details and fluidity found in many contemporary animated films. This deficiency in animation quality can be distracting for viewers, hindering their immersion in the story. Aesthetically, it may not meet the standards set by other animated films of its time, making it less appealing to both children and adults who appreciate high-quality animation. While the premise of a bee-centric story is intriguing, the film's visual shortcomings are a significant drawback that can impact the overall viewing experience.

Unlike VB's other movies, I had not seen a review for this film before I saw it. As soon as heard that the protagonist's name was Beenard, I knew I was in for a treat. As usual, the animation is unacceptable for this time and the subject matter is unoriginal. While all of VB's films have a coherent story, that means nothing. The one-time voice actress for Ash Ketchum voices Beenard, who wants to be a cook instead of a soldier, but his friend Beeauty wants to be a soldier- like we've never seen insect colonies as a metaphor for conformity before. Of course, the big problem with insect movies is that insects have to be humanized in impossible ways. There are 2 big-lipped alligator moments in the middle, and some characters barely have a reason to "bee" (pardon me) in this movie. That said, I kind of liked a scene at the end, after Beenard saves the hive with his cooking but is put on trial for abandoning his post as a soldier. Beenard argues that he defended the hive with his honey, so he didn't abandon his post. This does provide a good message and tell it well, but that doesn't stop me from giving it a 1-star review pretty much just for existing, though I think that Ratatoing is even worse .
I gave this one out of ten because if you had ten movies this would be the one you should watch. Very heartwarming, lovable characters and the graphics quality is perfection.
This is the best movie ever made. No contest. This demolishes all other movies. Fight Club? Demolished. Endgame? Demolished. Pulp Fiction? Demolished. This is absolutely the best movie I have ever laid my eyes upon.
one for number one!
one for number one!
That is all, nothing more. The voices, animation, story are all complete garbage. I give it a 4 instead of a 1 so they don't increase sales by entering the "prestigious" Bottom 100 IMDb list, and also because however unintentional it may be the laughably bad animation etc does provide some entertainment value, if watched with friends and a few beers.
