Mnemophrenia

This is a beautifully crafted piece of storytelling and a thought-provoking debut from a director prepared to challenge conventions of traditional film-making. Bravo.

An intelligent and complex movie that raises a number of important questions concerning our interaction with technology. And a great example of the power of indipendent and low-budget cinema!

This is a very interguing idea, that could be a reality. I was fascinated to see where this would go. It is very current where I think technology and memory will start to get mixed up and we won't beable to tell the difference between the two. Watch it! I rarely am enthusiastic about contemporary film culture, but this was really good.

Great film albeit disturbing. I think reality is hard enough to find already so to live in a fantasy knowingly thinking it not to be reality will blur our already tenuous link with what we think to be real still further. The film brings up questions like these and left me in wonder and trepidation as to the future of mankind. The director has, I believe, done this deliberately so as bring the audience into the subject, leaving them to work it out for themselves. The girl with a VR boyfriend really shows the double edged sword of this technology. Indeed it is a technology which will become more available and probably along the very same limes as Dr Konstantinidou is suggesting.

The premise of the film is by far one of the most intriguing ones explored in sci-fi to this day. Perhaps this is because mnemophrenia is something that seems so tangible, even in the present.

The story is told in an interesting way; by intertwining three individual, yet related stories from different points in time. This makes the storytelling somewhat confusing at the beginning, but coherent by the end.

The cinematography is stunning, and it is cleverly used to distinguish between the three storylines. A separate note must be made on the impressive graphics, which give additional information about the story, making it worth a second watch.

The acting and dialogue seem natural, which is really all that could be asked of this aspect.

Overall, Mnemophrenia is a film worth watching, regardless of its initially confusing nature.
