The small-scale fights are shot with raw intensity. They're not over-choreographed or flashy-they feel grounded, fast, and brutal. That makes them more impactful, more real, and emotionally heavier.
Rollo's redemption arc truly begins here. His shame is visible, his remorse feels genuine, and his efforts to regain honor are finally earning respect. This episode signals that he's not just "the traitor"-he's someone trying to rebuild.
Ragnar remains a complex leader, trying to balance politics, power, family, and inner values. His moments with Aslaug show that he's caught between what he wants and what he's expected to be. That human struggle adds depth to his character.
The direction in this episode is flawless-the atmosphere, music, pacing, and even silence are all used perfectly to build emotional and narrative tension. I give it a 10, because it's not just entertaining-it moves the characters forward in a natural, meaningful way, and reminds us that the deepest battles are often the personal ones.
"Treachery" is another great episode of "Vikings". Jarl Borg makes a wrong move and he will certainly have of face Ragnar's wrath. Rollo shows his importance defending Kattegat and this redemption will certainly improve his relationship with his brother. My vote is eight.
Title (Brazil): "Treachery"
He was with a Charlemagne's party at a harbor town in Southern Gaul. Gaul was the the region inhabited by the ancient Gauls, comprising modern-day France and parts of Belgium, western Germany, and northern Italy, Southern Gaul at a harbor town would be.
Narbonensis was Southern Gaulle, and that included Marseille. Maybe the were at harbor town at the river rhone so the Northmen could only have come through the medeterian sea. Before they even found Enland they sailed across the North Sea and the English Channel and sailing across the Atlantic ocean passing Gaul's Western coastline, passing through the strait of gibraltar entering the Medeterian sea.
The episode was entertaining.

- TriviaThis is the first episode that Alexander Ludwig appears in as Björn.
- GoofsAt the beginning episode "Treachery" (SE2.EP3), we can hear a monologue from King Ecbert about the late Emperor Charlemagne, further in the episode there is another reference to the Frankish Emperor witnessing a Viking raid. However Charlemagne was very much alive at the time the episode is taking place, in the early 800s. Ragnar and Horik battle Jarl Borg and Rollo in 796; judging by both Bjorn's and by his half brothers'respective ages, no more than 10 years have passed which places us well before 814, the time of Charlemagne's death.
- Quotes
Bishop Edmund: So... Bishop Swithern was a necessary sacrifice?
King Ecbert: As a man of God, I assumed he welcomed the opportunity for martyrdom. Or do you disagree?
Bishop Edmund: Oh no, sire. All of the cloth would welcome martyrdom in the cause of our faith, service of our Lord Jesus Christ.
King Ecbert: Good. Because I'm going to offer you precisely that same opportunity, my Lord Bishop. And, I trust, very soon.
