Rahasya," directed by Manish Gupta, is a Indian thriller that delves into the complexities of a shocking murder case rooted in a seemingly tranquil household. The film draws inspiration from the real-life murder of a young medical student, Arushi Talwar, a case that captivated the nation and still resonates in contemporary discussions about justice and media portrayal of crime.
The film revolves around the murder of an 18-year-old girl, Ayesha Mahajan (Sakshi Sem), in her own home. Her father, Sachin Mahajan (Ashish Vidyarthi), becomes the prime suspect, but CBI officer Sunil Paraskar (Kay Kay Menon) is determined to uncover the truth.
What stands out in "Rahasya" is its multifaceted narrative structure. The film elegantly constructs a layered story that interweaves the main investigation with flashbacks, revealing the secrets and hidden tensions within the family. The screenplay is well-crafted, pulling the audience into the investigation and gradually unfolding various red herrings, keeping viewers guessing until the very end.
Kay Kay Menon delivers a stellar performance as the dedicated CBI officer, his portrayal of a man determined to solve a complex case is both intense and compelling. Ashish Vidyarthi is equally impressive as the distraught father, his character's vulnerability and pain are palpable.
The film's atmosphere is one of constant suspense. The screenplay, while inspired by a real-life tragedy, manages to create a fictional narrative that is both engaging and thought-provoking. The director's skill in building tension is evident throughout the film.
Another highlight is the music, Which complements the film's tone and amplifies the emotions of key scenes. The soundtrack features haunting melodies that resonate with the underlying themes of loss and betrayal. The film's cinematography, effectively creates a tense atmosphere that mirrors the mounting suspense of the story.
Despite its engaging plot and strong performances, "Rahasya" is not without its pitfalls. While the first half of the film is gripping, the climax could have been stronger. Some viewers might find the ending to be predictable or unsatisfying. Nonetheless, the film's exploration of the psychological impact of such a tragedy is commendable.
Overall, "Rahasya" is an enthralling cinematic experience that successfully marries social commentary with the thrills of a murder mystery. It compels the audience to ponder the complexities of human relationships, the impact of societal pressures, and the fragile nature of truth. For those who crave intelligent storytelling filled with suspense, "Rahasya" stands as a note-worthy addition to the genre.

As it is said for the movie, the plot has been inspired by the famous Aarushi murder case from the real past. The adaptation of the base idea has been beautifully executed and characterization is superb. Casting is the solid base and writing takes full marks. When a film maker attempts to show the ugly face of the society of millionaires, its becomes a responsibility to show it in its true color. Director has done a great job in execution and presentation of the movie. And when the audiences know the facts before hand it becomes more tough to make the whole story more interesting and exciting.
It has the power to make you glued till the end.
First half is all being the mysterious one and even the 80% of second half goes on the same mystery path, and at the end it is revealed. But yes, movie doesn't end till the last minute, for the audiences and that's the best thing, for a murder mystery thriller. Its a must watch for all those audiences who really like meaningful and quality cinema.

Simply the best thriller and suspense movie I watched till now. KK Menon Sir, I am your new fan after watching this movie. Great direction, superb acting from all of the cast. The movie is so awesome, it keeps you engaged all the time. I just love the plot, screenplay, story and everything about the movie. I wish the CBI acts in same way as shown in the movie, but unfortunately our CBI is also corrupt and they cant solve a case in the same manner as shown in the movie. Great movie, Awesome Acting. Its sad to see that movie of this kind wont earn much and wont get much fame in India. But third class movies of SRK and Salmaan would earn millions.!
Excellent Triller . This movie reminds me about a true case which happened recently in India .The start case is awesome and Kay Kay Menon has done wonderful job . The producer has provided the audience to think in all directions where until the end of climax come its not clear about who is the prime suspect for the murder. The mystery which is known in the end explains the real story which happened that night in the house of the doctors. The title of the movie is the right name for the thriller and the case which has been plotted which is being portrayed by characters shows relations between high profile societies which are really not visible in real life . Also the story depicts real life situations which can happen to anyone .
Rahasya is a one of the underated crime thriller film of Bollywood. I don't understand why the film was a flop at the box office. We want these types of film like 404 Error Not found,Table no 21,Talash and many more. Not like this Race 3,Baaghi 3,Khamoshiyan and many more. The film is a good suspense movie and the performance of many actors are outstanding specially Kay Kay Menon. He was the highlight of this film.He didn't dispointed us.
Overall The film is a Good Suspense Thriller Film.
