After a decade of not coming to the cinemas, I finally broke the streak with My Love Will Make You Disappear-not just once, but twice and possibly more to come.
The movie? Ohhh God! It was delightfully entertaining. It's the kind of romcom that sneaks up on you-light and playful at first but unexpectedly deep, leaving you laughing, crying, and utterly swept off your feet. It's simple in its storytelling, yet the emotions hit straight to the heart, making it an unforgettable cinematic experience.
The film delivers a perfect mix of 10% tears, 20% laughter, and a whopping 70% kilig-the kind that builds up until you find yourself grinning like a fool, wiping away happy tears, and holding your chest as if that could contain all the emotions bursting inside. It's a rollercoaster of feelings that doesn't just entertain but makes you believe in love all over again.
KimPau's chemistry isn't just electric-it's cosmic, it's out of this world. Their connection is so natural and compelling that it feels like they were destined for these roles. They don't just make you fall in love with their characters, they make you feel like you're living the romance with them. The way they exchange glances, deliver heartfelt and funny lines, and bring out the best (and worst) in each other is nothing short of magical. It's hard to imagine any other duo pulling off the same level of charm and authenticity.
Every penny spent on this film is beyond worth it. In fact, if you walk out of the theater without feeling anything, I'd personally bet on a money-back guarantee-it's something that you can watch all over again- because My Love Will Make You Disappear isn't just a movie. It's a feeling, a moment, a memory you'll carry long after the credits roll.

One of the most endearing assets that "My Love Will Make You Disappear", it has a simple storyline, but it delivered with utmost sincerity and charm. It also aims to leave audiences with a sense of happiness and warmth. Directed by Chad Vidanes, in his feature film directorial debut, it centers on bubbly Sari (Kim Chiu) who convinced herself that she's forever "meant to be single" considering that everyone she's ever loved and kissed has mysteriously disappeared. But her resolve to avoid romance is tested when she meets Jolo (Paulo Avelino), a brooding landlord burdened by personal failures and the responsibility of inheriting a struggling apartment complex.
I really enjoyed the film, the story is full of humor, heart, and sweet moments, making it a fun and feel-good watch from start to finish, it's clear that the creators intended for it to be a joyful and uplifting. Plus the beautiful cinematography, creative editing, and the film's theme song, 'Dilaw' by Maki is a perfect match to the lead characters' emotion and kilig moments.
The most notable merit here is the writing, it just smartly handles its characters and often pull off some comedic dialogue. The performances also bring a wonderful effect. Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino's on-screen relationship feels authentic and raw. Their chemistry are genuine. Kim Chiu is indeed one of the queens of rom-coms and she brings plenty of charms to her character. Paulo Avelino, in his role as Jolo, does a good job at developing his character's growth. He conveys profound emotions that brings depth to his character.
Compared to many local rom-coms today, "My Love Will Make You Disappear" feels refreshing. It is something that you can totally admit that you had a good time with it, specifically to those aren't fans to these types of movies. It definitely not your usual rom-com movie!

Story: Predictable. Felt like it was compressed just to give the whole story. It might be more good if it was made as a series like a short series but then again since the story focuses on the female lead Sari, it was delivered well by the lead. I just felt like the other characters might have shown more of their stories.
Characters: I wanted to see more of the tahanan homes people. They are a happy, fun typical Filipino community and I wanted to see more fun from them. Their comedic timing are all on point but I wanted to see more comedy especially with the character of Aling Nida. I was left hanging for her character. I was left hanging from all of them they should have shown more.
Jolo- the character also felt short but it was delivered well for Sari. I wanted to see more backstory of him. I felt like he was just a supporting role for Sari.
Sari- the main character it was delivered well. Since the story focuses on her then that was given! She showed all emotions in 2hrs I mean "different emotions".
Artist: Everyone is good in their own way. They all delivered the script and the story well. Their comedic timings are all on point so definitely you would still enjoy it. The chemistry of the 2 leads shines through on screen. It feels so real. Their eyes speaks volume.
Overall: if you want to run away from stress or problems even just for 2hrs then this movie is for you. If you want to feel butterflies on your stomach then this is for you! It's just a feel good movie with a heart.
