'My Love Will Make You Disappear' Is Not Your Usual Rom-Com Movie!

One of the most endearing assets that "My Love Will Make You Disappear", it has a simple storyline, but it delivered with utmost sincerity and charm. It also aims to leave audiences with a sense of happiness and warmth. Directed by Chad Vidanes, in his feature film directorial debut, it centers on bubbly Sari (Kim Chiu) who convinced herself that she's forever "meant to be single" considering that everyone she's ever loved and kissed has mysteriously disappeared. But her resolve to avoid romance is tested when she meets Jolo (Paulo Avelino), a brooding landlord burdened by personal failures and the responsibility of inheriting a struggling apartment complex.

I really enjoyed the film, the story is full of humor, heart, and sweet moments, making it a fun and feel-good watch from start to finish, it's clear that the creators intended for it to be a joyful and uplifting. Plus the beautiful cinematography, creative editing, and the film's theme song, 'Dilaw' by Maki is a perfect match to the lead characters' emotion and kilig moments.

The most notable merit here is the writing, it just smartly handles its characters and often pull off some comedic dialogue. The performances also bring a wonderful effect. Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino's on-screen relationship feels authentic and raw. Their chemistry are genuine. Kim Chiu is indeed one of the queens of rom-coms and she brings plenty of charms to her character. Paulo Avelino, in his role as Jolo, does a good job at developing his character's growth. He conveys profound emotions that brings depth to his character.

Compared to many local rom-coms today, "My Love Will Make You Disappear" feels refreshing. It is something that you can totally admit that you had a good time with it, specifically to those aren't fans to these types of movies. It definitely not your usual rom-com movie!

    Superb

"My Love Will Make You Disappear" stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of Filipino cinema, offering audiences a narrative that is both entertaining and emotionally enriching. Through stellar performances, adept direction, and a story that balances tradition with modernity, the film invites viewers to reflect on the complexities of love and the courage required to embrace it fully. As it continues to captivate audiences worldwide, the film reinforces the enduring appeal of heartfelt storytelling in connecting people across cultures. The screenplay strikes a delicate balance between lighthearted humor and poignant emotional moments. The dialogues feel natural, with plenty of sharp, witty exchanges that highlight the chemistry between the lead characters. Sari and Jolo's interactions are filled with playful banter, but they also capture deep, introspective conversations that speak to the complexities of relationships. The writing is solid, offering humor without undercutting the deeper emotional arcs the characters undergo.

Watched it 5x so far, that is how good its is

Only Fil movie i watched so far recently. Sari resonated with me. KimPau chemistry is so palpable. Grabe love this feel good movie. Planning to watch it again with a different set of friends before i leave for UK.

Best scene for me is the #Gusto scene, cinematography is on pt like kdrama quality, comedy is is good. In this chaotic and depressing world, a feel good movie is just what we need, watched it several times but the experience of happiness and kilig doesn't get old.

Go watch it, you will not be disappointed. Bring the whole family . It does what its set out to do which is to entertain.

    Worth to watch

The storyline is simple yet very relatable. You will find yourself crying, then, after a couple of seconds, switch to laughing. Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino are indeed super talented that they were able to convey their story and transcend it to the screen. Their chemistry on screen is amazing. You get the "Kilig" feel without feeling cringey. It makes me want to keep watching them. The cinematography is also excellent. The song "Dilaw" by Maki fits perfectly as the theme song for the movie. Kudos to the whole team of My Love Will Make You Disappear. So happy I was able to watch it.

A feel good movie with superb leads

Story: Predictable. Felt like it was compressed just to give the whole story. It might be more good if it was made as a series like a short series but then again since the story focuses on the female lead Sari, it was delivered well by the lead. I just felt like the other characters might have shown more of their stories.

Characters: I wanted to see more of the tahanan homes people. They are a happy, fun typical Filipino community and I wanted to see more fun from them. Their comedic timing are all on point but I wanted to see more comedy especially with the character of Aling Nida. I was left hanging for her character. I was left hanging from all of them they should have shown more.

Jolo- the character also felt short but it was delivered well for Sari. I wanted to see more backstory of him. I felt like he was just a supporting role for Sari.

Sari- the main character it was delivered well. Since the story focuses on her then that was given! She showed all emotions in 2hrs I mean "different emotions".

Artist: Everyone is good in their own way. They all delivered the script and the story well. Their comedic timings are all on point so definitely you would still enjoy it. The chemistry of the 2 leads shines through on screen. It feels so real. Their eyes speaks volume.

Overall: if you want to run away from stress or problems even just for 2hrs then this movie is for you. If you want to feel butterflies on your stomach then this is for you! It's just a feel good movie with a heart.
