In Episode 2 of Saint-Pierre we get to see Bastille Day celebrations. Suddenly Arch and Fitz discover a mysterious body and much hijinx ensues. The two of them clash over their different approaches - Fitz goes by his gut and Arch cares about evidence. This ends up being entertaining to watch the two of them disagree.
Overall I've been so impressed with Josephine Jobert's acting. I'm excited to see her onscreen chemistry and friendship with Allan take shape. Saint-Pierre as a location is really neat to see and its fun to see new facets of the island in each episode. Looking forward to the next episode to see where it takes us!

This is worth watching. The setting is great and Arch and Fitz are good characters that seem well anchored and with room to grow. The mysteries are on the cozy side, but without the main characters being ridiculous/camp, though there is a sense that things are going to get more serious.
I like that Arch is smart/capable - she holds her own and isn't dressed ridiculously. Fitz is a bit of a curious mix - in exile and aware of past decisions that were bad or questionable. He has an air of regret, but also an unwavering belief in his own instincts.
We are slowly getting to know more about the characters and I find myself wanting to know more about them. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

The premise of this is very much like The Mallorca Files. Both series are set on a tourist island, with two very different male and female police officers. One of the police officers has arrived on the island to work, but is under a mysterious cloud. After joining forces with a very established local officer, both end up being a great team after a wonky start. They solve some tough cases as both are very capable in their own way and their unique skill sets mesh incredibly well. There is also amazing country side and interesting locals to enjoy as well.
The similarities to the other series aside though, Saint Pierre is a very enjoyable show on its own merits. I really hope it does well and we get to see many more seasons.

I see that the current rating is 8.1 which this TV show does not deserve, not by a long shot. There is nothing new here, a bunch of stereotypical writing, I kept hoping that my prime suspect from episode 1 is not going to be the one who actually did it but of course it was and when that happens, I kind of tend to lose any interest in any new episodes. It's not fun guessing 15 minutes in who did it, is it? I also had a feeling of watching Death in Paradise but then I realized that the female lead was in it (quite frankly didn't recognize her). I am not going to continue watching, but kudos to everybody who is, just not worth my time.
So I got to see Saint-Pierre for the first time at an early screening in Toronto back in December and truthfully didn't even realize it was a real place at first. Who knew there was an island off the coast of Newfoundland that belongs to France! I had heard of other islands in the Carribean but had no idea we had one so close to Canada. Anyways, that really peaked my interest to see the show and so far in the first episodes its been fun to see the location!
The two main characters seem to strongly dislike each other but I'm sure that will change and I look forward to watching these two good actors bring that to life. Looking forward for more!
