Give a man a fish and he can survive for day, learn a man to fish and he will survive forever. These words are channeled in the anime. Even in the Darkest Hour there is still hope and people out there that are nice, and maybe it'll be all right, even if it's short.

The character design is so varied, it looks like some of them are for different series And willing to go off model for enhanced comedy. But it all collides in them liking fishing, like all different people can enjoy fishing.

The cast is so nice, full of fishing freaks that are fun to be around. Full of energy and character, with different age, life experience. Add life and depth to the story.

Music use give it so much soul, that Lone guitar man giving it all for the mood.

Nice satisfying ending and good life lessons, will recommend.

This anime series is centred on university student Tsunehiro Sasaki... to say that things are going badly for him is an understatement. His doctor has informed him that he has a terminal illness and only has two years left to live. Then he is chased by debt collectors and ends up falling into the sea. Here his luck changes somewhat; he is rescued by a group of friends on a fishing trip. Gradually he becomes interested in their hobby and starts angling with them.

While this series starts in a fairly downbeat manner it ultimately proves to be a feel good series as Tsunehiro and his new friends prove to be enjoyably company even if you know nothing about fishing. The characters are likeable and one comes to care about them and take an interest in their hobby. The character designs are decent if not quite as polished as those in many series; I feel this was a deliberate choice. The animation is good especially in the scenes were they are fishing. Overall I'd definitely recommend this to fans of anime series that are centred on individuals involved in a particular hobby.
