Didn't expect to fall so hard for Adults, but here we are. This FX comedy about five twenty-somethings sharing a house in Queens is the most I've laughed-and cringed-in ages. It captures the messiness of early adulthood with a blend of absurd humor and genuine emotion. The cast-Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao, and Owen Thiele-bring their characters to life with performances that are both hilarious and deeply relatable. The show hits its stride in Episode 6, "Roast Chicken," where a dinner party spirals into chaos, featuring Charlie Cox's unforgettable guest appearance. Despite its zany moments, Adults doesn't shy away from the real struggles of growing up, making it a standout in the coming-of-age genre. It's a must-watch for anyone navigating the wild ride of adulthood.
I can't imagine anyone actually relating to these characters. The writing is so cringe and unrealistic a lot of times.
I don't know anyone in their 20s that talks like any of these people. Token characters like Anton. A random cameo by Julia Fox. It says a lot that celebrities have hyped this show. Just out of touch people thinking that the majority of young people are like this. It all seems less like it's for Gen-Z and more like it's for people who are chronically online. Felt like I was watching a random Netflix show.
Hope that the actors get traction from this show, but I don't see the show getting renewed past 2 seasons tops.

Can streaming services give new shows more than eight 20-30 minute episodes for gods sake?! Give shows the opportunity to be great! Sitcoms were not meant to be this short they should have 20-25 episodes like they used to. Adults does a lot with the little time it was given and I hope it doesn't get cancelled before it can really get going. I want more! The characters are fun and engaging, acting is great, it didn't try too hard with the gen z humor to the point of being cringe, and it has a lot of potential that I would be disappointed to see go to waste just because streaming services are stupid. Give us a second season with more episodes PLEASE.
A lot of people seem to be saying this show is meant for Gen Z, I'm a millennial and find it funny. Yes it does have some kind of... cringy jokes that are trying a little too hard but they were so infrequent I could forgive them.
I'm a huge fan of recent shows like English Teacher and Overcompensating and this show, while maybe not *quite* as good as those two shows (I gave them 10s) it is certainly filling that void while waiting for season 2s for those shows.
The characters are mostly all unique in their own ways and bring a different type of humor to each scene. If you're on the fence stick it out until at least episode 3, that is my favorite so far and what really solidified the show as a great show for me. Was disappointed when coming to the reviews to see it only had a 6.8 at the time of writing this, don't let that discourage you from trying it out.

ADULTS is an easygoing comedy that plays charitably with Gen Z tropes without having to resort to generational barb slinging. It's full of cute and genuine moments but never forgets that it's a comedy at heart with a youthful sort of optimism that lingers throughout each episode. There's plenty of laughs and a nice assortment of personalities to enjoy (what a great cast).
There's also only 8 episodes out for this first drop, and for me, well, it was over too soon (a rewatch is in my future). So, in conclusion, I definitely wouldn't complain if it got a second season, and I really hope it does.
