The 2025 Webby Awards are celebrating the most inescapable moments in music online. Scheduled for Monday, May 12 in New York City with Ilana Glazer attached to host, the awards show revealed its nominations on Tuesday, April 1 with some of the biggest genre-spanning artists leading as nominees.

In the Music Video, General Video & Film category, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” will face off against Dua Lipa’s “Illusion,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Mamushi,” Charli Xcx’s “Von Dutch,” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra.”

Italian director Francesca Archibugi will direct sex-trafficking drama “Illusion” toplining Jasmine Trinca as an intrepid magistrate investigating a prostitution ring with links to the European parliament and Michele Riondino (“Young Montalbano”) as a psychologist.

Shooting is set to start next month in central Italy on the roughly $8 million film that will reunite Archibugi with Trinca who played the lead in the director’s feminist fascist-era saga “La Storia” that was Italy’s biggest TV event of 2023. Italy’s Fandango is co-producing “Illusion” with Rai Cinema and Belgium’s Tarantula.

Fandango sales is launching pre-sales on “Illusion” at the European Film Market.

Michael A. Goorjian is an award-winning American actor, filmmaker, and writer, known for his roles in “David’s Mother” (1994), “Slc Punk!” (1998), its sequel, “Punk’s Dead” (2016) and many other films, television series and theater productions. Goorjian received acclaim as a director for his mock-documentary “Oakland Underground” (1997) and the movie “Illusion” (2004), which he wrote, directed and starred in alongside Kirk Douglas.

He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. His father is Armenian, his grandparents are survivors of the Armenian genocide, an experience that also shapes his latest comedy-drama “Amerikatsi”. The film centers around Charlie Bakhchinyan, played by Goorjian himself, an Armenian-American who repatriates to Soviet Armenia after World War II. Arrested for the crime of wearing a tie, he ends up in prison.

Dua Lipa is kicking off the Radical Optimism Tour!

The 29-year-old Radical Optimism superstar kicked off the first night of her highly anticipated world tour on Tuesday (November 5) at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

The tour will see her moving through Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States all the way through to October of 2025. For all tour dates and ticket info, click here.

Dua performed nearly two dozen tracks from her first three albums during opening night of her tour, as well as a smattering of her smash hit collaborations.

Musician Sir Elton John gave the world his farewell tour just last year. However, that didn’t keep him from making a surprise appearance at a concert in London. Naturally, John joined a famous singer-songwriter to perform a duet.

John is known for his prolific music career. Some of his more famous songs include “Bennie and the Jets,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” “Candle in the Wind,” “I’m Still Standing,” and “Rocket Man.” He is also known for his songs for Disney’s The Lion King, including “Circle of Life” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” which were written with Tim Rice.

The musician gave his farewell tour, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road,” named for his album, “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” from 2018 to 2023. However, that did not keep John from appearing at and performing at a recent concert for a performer he recently collaborated with.

Dua celebrated her album Radical Optimism by performing the album in full ahead of her upcoming tour. She even brought out Elton John as a surprise guest to perform their “Cold Heart” duet.

The Radical Optimism Tour officially kicks off on November 5 in Singapore and she’ll be touring around Asia through the beginning of December. The tour then continues in March 2025 with Oceania shows followed by the start of the European leg in May 2025. Fans in North America will have to wait until September 2025 to see the show!

On September 12, singer and songwriter Dua Lipa unveiled a long list of 2025 show dates for her Radical Optimism tour.

The tour will see her perform over 40 shows across the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North America and the UK.

The tour will kick off with her previously announced shows through Asia, which will keep her busy from November 5, 2024, to December 5, 2024. A few months later, she’ll embark on her global performances, before the North American leg of the tour, which will start in Toronto on September 1, 2025.
