    Beautiful!

I wasn't actually expecting much from this movie, not knowing the storyline, but from the minute it started , and with the way it started, I thought "wow" this is going to be good. It was great! An original way of representing the lives and emotions of a group of women, all different from each other but tied together by empathy and love. The movie is touching, stands for what women can accomplish and for what women are capable of giving and most of all the greatness that can be done when they stand up for what they believe in. The directors sensitivity is shown the whole way. The score is perfectly matching the intense stories and many of the dialogues are so intense. I loved it.

    EXCELLENT and very artistic!

That's what cinema is all about!

    BEAUTIFUL from beginning to end!

    INCREDIBLE screenplay!

    AMAZING cast!

    FANTASTIC MUSIC!

I went to the movie theater after I saw the trailer and read the movie was a hit last year in ITALY! But for me was very much than a movie: it was like enjoying with all my senses.

I saw it in Coral Gables, Miami as part as the MIAMI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and the movie theater was full! And the reaction of us -the public- was consistent with the story.

I can't find the words to express more about the magnificent movie DIAMANTI is.

If you love great movies please watch DIAMANTI!

I congratulate the director, the actors, the crew and everybody who made possible this movie : THANKS! GRAZIE MILLE!

2h of mediocrity dressed up as a meaningfoul movie

Really nothing to add to the title of the review. I wanted so bad to go out form the cinema after 30 mins, I didn't just hoping the movie would get better at some time.

    Spoiler: it doesn't.

It's just total garbage pretending to be something interesting.

Save yourself time and money, it would be better to spend 2h watching the wall.

There's literally nothing interesting in the movie - just a sequence of "powerful" sentences which don't add anything and mean nothing at all.

A self defined praise to women turned into a grotesque and meaningless sequence of scenes with nothing to say.

Please please please save your time for something else.

    The Brilliance of Women

"Diamonds" vividly captures the frenetic energy of a theatrical costume workshop and the women who bring it to life in 1970s Rome. Ferzan Özpetek uses the metaphor of crafting costumes to tailor a deeply feminine narrative for his ensemble cast - a story of mutual understanding, complicity, unwavering support, and fierce determination. It's a world of solidarity and tireless creativity, where male figures revolve on the periphery, relegated to mere sidekicks or caricatures for once.

From the opening scene, Özpetek makes his intentions clear: this is a film that celebrates women. The story begins with a compelling moment - the actresses reading the script for the first time - and seamlessly transitions into the narrative, where the director's own perspective emerges. He portrays himself as a child, secretly smuggled into the atelier by one of the seamstresses, capturing the awe and wonder of that hidden, vibrant world. This is Özpetek at his finest: tender, nostalgic, and resolutely focused on the brilliance of women.

    A perfect and powerful movie

Although the film is set in the late 1970s and early 1980s, its themes remain strikingly relevant today. Its only flaw, if any, lies in the audience it's directed toward: sadly, many young Italian women today seem to aspire only to becoming objects of desire or to achieving success by compromising their dignity (exactly like Americans started to do 10 years ago). That aside, the film is truly remarkable-beautifully directed, with a compelling narrative, and every actress delivers a performance that feels tailor-made for her role. A powerful and moving film! Congratulations for another great movie Ferzan Özpetek!
