The Well

And it's called Midnight. The sequal to the 2008 Revival episode "Midnight" which was a Tennant and Tate exclusive. This episode was completely different, layered different. But still had the same thrills and scares to still make it one of the best watches of Doctor who. Season 1 whilst mostly good and had a uniqueness and Brought Ncuti's charm and wit. Now Season 2 offeres dark and surreal ambient episodes that produced some of the best and most entertaining episodes, take "Midnight" as a prime example, or the highly talked about "Blink". They both connect something well, and that's the ambience, the horror, and the playing on people's emotions. Nobody can guess what's about to happen, as it's so unexpected it hits the jackpot and leaves a thrilling spectacle that's massed with ambience and story.

"The Well" has the sentient surrounding people and still operating in a fearful and scary way, once you stepped closer in that takes the inoccency of victims and plays on their mind, that's creepy, that's scary, it's unexpected. That's what made the nature of the dark stories so good, they had suspense, they had mystery, they had the impacting emotions that stuck with you. And the Well plays on these things very well, they capture the essence and the detailings of a fun sci-fi mystery. They unite them by suppling us with the mystery-Which we want to know what we're dealing, two we want a thriller sometimes that plays on people's fears and emotions that rely on a thought to get them out of a difficult situation, and 3 A Trial and Error where the team and the Doctor has to adapt to their surroundings.

Also the history was well executed offering an insightful view of the planet "Midnight". One thing I would say about these stories, is the pacing. Which is good but can sometimes strain due to being in the same room, or the writing not being as clever or the smartness not taking centre stage sometimes. I'll still praise the next time chapters for not giving away much.

I'd rate this a 10 Because the story had some scares, some thrilling moments and the story had some darker and more grounded spectacle that made this Doctor story Brave and Bold. Fantastic G, 10/10.

After the original feel of last week's episode, the show returned to, what I felt, was more classic Who. And boy, did it work!

Decent cold opening, not the biggest hook but from there the tension built. A good set up, bodies everywhere, different causes of death, no real explanation. Clearly the plot thickens, a few video snippets but nothing too telling, then the reveal and link back to previous Who. Didn't see it coming, really well done. Made sense, not shoe-horned in. Didn't kill the legacy of the referred to episode.

My main gripe with the new Disney-era Doctor, is that each story has been wrapped up in, what felt like, a rush and possibly too easily. This one was not the case and, I for one, found this refreshing and a very satisfying ending to a very strong episode.

Let's hope we get more like this!

When I started watching this episode, I expected it to be a horror, as it was giving off those vibes from all the teasers. What I was not expecting was the twist in the episode.

There's so much tension in this episode, and it just left me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The characters are pretty good, with the episode giving characters like Shaya enough time onscreen so that you can get invested in them.

The episode also leaves you with a lot of questions having to do with the season's story arc, and I really hope they're answered in a satisfying way at the end.

Not gonna say anymore because I don't want to spoil the twist or the ending for you. I highly recommend you see this for yourself, and I hope it leaves you on the edge of your seats like it did for me!

Suspenseful. Mysterious. Gripping. A compelling setting, interesting side characters, a terrifying foe and a brilliant script. This episode had it all. While it might not exactly reach the heights of the episode it's inspired by, boy does it come close. Everything about this episode was fantastic and it really brought a sense of immense threat and terror to this new series of the show. And the acting was on point - some of the best performances so far. I hope the writing pair of this episode write more episodes together because this was undoubtedly the best one of the latest era of the show by far!!

After sitting through the utter dross of Chibnall and limped through elements of series 1 of the return of RTD - this is it!! Finally, a storyline building on previous strengths which delivers on so many levels. For the first time since Tennants return and before that the end of Capaldi, I was hooked. This hit the buttons of what makes Dr Who. Great writing, thrills and swings of emotions. I am really hoping this is the beginning of a new level of quality and excitement. We have had to put up with utter rubbish now please RTD build on this moving forwards! This felt like Dr Who was finally back 😊
