There are so many lapses of basic police protocol and school security it's ridiculous. Not sure why K9 is featured in the title, very few scenes with the dog, he's just a prop. How does a body fit in a hole that is 12 inches by 12 inches. There are idiotic components like these throughout. The dialogue is typical Hallmark movie, not a Mystery Movie. Its far from the Mystery 101 and Gourmet Mysteries. No witty banter. . And the music is so bad it puts you to sleep. Pretty soon people are going to stop watching these movies because they're cranked out without regard to quality.
Who is running Hallmark these days? And where did the writers disappear to?

Plot holes a mile wide, continuity errors (my pet peeve) and overall a very implausible story. Not sure why K9 is featured in the title, very few scenes with the dog, he's just a prop. How does a body fit in a hole that is 12 inches by 12 inches - exactly, it doesn't. The lines written for the actors were lame and delivered about as well. It never ceases to amaze me how writers expect their audiences to believe that a layperson can just insert themselves into a police investigation. Pretty soon people are going to stop watching these movies because they're cranked out without regard to quality. Come on, writers, do better.
First I have to comment on the terrible wardrobe in this mystery...it was truly atrocious, with the exception of the detective Nick, whose suits dapper enough for his station. Second I thought the German Shepard who played Zeus was a lovely dog, who I wish was used a lot more in this film especially sine it is called "a K-9 mystery". Third, I didn't really appreciate the negative backstory between the two leads. It didn't seem like a very believable story...but maybe that was just due to their lack of chemistry. I really like the actor Corey Sevier, who played Nick, and I have seen him put in some great performances, but I think he needed a better script. Finally, I thought there were far too many coincidences for this story to be believable...and the dental records-wow!
In general I am a fan of Hallmark mysteries, but this isn't one that I can recommend.
While giving a corpse smelling dog demonstration for the forensics club at the school she and the now principal both attended, she finds a year old body under the floorboards...it looks like it might be a strict teacher from the school, but who did it and why?

Could not find this movie on Hallmark. It showed up on YouTube.
Good enough to watch to the end, but not good enough to recommend.
The writing in the acting all seems very forced. I wanted to like it, but I couldn't warm up to it.
The former boyfriend is not even very likable. Of course, neither is the main character. I wish they would've written more lines for the dog, Zeus.
Continuity issue when she's at the house of the murdered woman. The detective tells her to stay there and don't knock on the door however she goes in and then they show her going for a run and getting whacked with a 2 x 6 in the head. A hit like that would've put her in the hospital and broken her skull.
No spoiler here, but it is a screwy ending.

This is movie has an interesting plot that keeps you entertained and guessing the outcome. Jazz Ramsey, played by Rachel Skarsten, who trains crime detection dogs and they team up to solve mysteries with a little help from Nick-her ex-boyfriend and the town's lead detective, played by Corey Sevier. (and Corey is hot, hot, hot!) This episode involves accidently discovering remains of a body while demonstrating the talents of her crime detection dog to students at her old school. Jazz reflects on her school days and tries to free her friend, who is now the School Principal from being a suspect even though their is strong evidence that leads to her. Their is great chemistry between the two leads which despite their breakup you can sense they still have feelings for one another. The ending has a bit of a surprise. An entertaining movie, but I wish they had incorporated more of the dog in the story to make it true a K9 mystery.
