An Asst. Postman (Kiran Abbavaram) has a habit of reading people's letters and takes it upon himself to help resolve their issues.
He comes across a letter that is connected to the mysterious disappearances of young girls in the village. (Here and there, i was reminded of Vamsi Garu's 1985 film Anveshana.)
Written & Directed by Sujith & Sandeep, 'Ka' (2024) is a suspense thriller set in the 1970s blending crime and metaphysics.
'Ka's out-of-the-box screenplay keeps you engaged every minute.
Kiran Abbavaram Garu is the heart and soul of the film. He delivers a top notch acting performance that i truly feel deserves a Nandi Award!
Kiran Abbavaram Garu is that good with his emotions, expressions, fights and dances that he has carved a niche for himself in Telugu cinema with his latest outing.
I even saw shades of Balakrishna Garu in him. Who knows? Kiran Abbavaram Garu may very well go onto be Telugu cinema's next Balayya Babu Garu! Not kidding.
Nayan Sarika is charming and looks good on screen. She does well.
Production values are too good.
The actual meaning of 'Ka' is revealed only in the climax and to me it looks a bit contrived.
I can't talk much about this mystery-thriller because i will have to share spoilers.
Positives: Kiran Abbavaram 9/10 Story & Direction 7/10 Screenplay & Dialogues 9/10 Cinematography 9/10 (Strong visuals) Music 8.5/10 Art, Production design 8.5/10 Editing 8.5/10 Suspense & thrills play out nicely.
Negatives: Character arcs for supporting characters needed to be developed further.
The film will do well overseas and it will do well in other languages too.
A solid blockbuster for sure!
A must-watch in theaters!
My IMDb rating 8.5/10.

"KA" offers an interesting blend of predictability and creative storytelling. While the story itself may follow a somewhat expected path, the credit for elevating the experience largely goes to the screenplay writer. Despite a seemingly ordinary narrative and a screenplay that, at times, feels too familiar, the director introduces a fresh storytelling approach that salvages the experience-especially in the final 15 minutes, which provide a rewarding payoff for viewers willing to endure a somewhat sluggish two-hour buildup.
Background music is a mixed bag; at times, it overwhelms the scenes with excessive "bang," and some hero elevations and action sequences feel forced, detracting from the overall impact. Kiran Abbavaram's performance is inconsistent, with moments of poor acting that highlight missed opportunities for character depth and genuine connection. Comedy and songs, had they been executed more effectively, could have turned the movie into a major hit. Nonetheless, the film has found success and deserves commendation for its ambitious efforts.
The village's unique setting, where the sun sets early and darkness brings forth horror, is intriguing and sets an eerie backdrop that enriches the film's atmosphere.
Kudos to directors Sandeep and Sujeeth for pushing boundaries. Keep rocking!

Whole movie is good.but first 15 mins it is anable to connect the audience.smart story n direction .but at last when hero is reborn...how dog from that village runs to his masters home ? Which is different town.cant digest that scene.but loved this concept.at first thought it is about time travel but at last direction cleared all things that it is womb and both get connected as twins...their karmas bound them with together birth.acting is good and some magical scene n places are shown which mesmerized me.i love south movie which are not mass but in that they show some different thinking.bestovie.
I have never seen such stories before. The story is slow but after the interval the actual story starts so well that there are no real words, we think it is a routine story but no, it is a completely new story. The dialogue delivery but after the interval, each scene, each suspense is very good, I mean very good, director vision, I am a fan of yours, wishing you to make such things again and again. We will wait for Ka 2. Everyone wants to say this but it is not possible for everyone. Kiran, you should try a negative role, it is very good, you and the heroine's intro are very good all bgm also good.
Mental Mass Metaphorical Climax (extra half star for that). One of the finest concepts I've seen in recent times. Good execution too but with few unnecessary scenes in between (as audience highlight only those negatives by keeping aside all the positives, I think TFI will probably fail here too). God if they edited out those scenes and made this as a complete thriller, this would've been absolute banger for everyone (banger for me because of that climax & understood that those unnecessary scenes were required to create a little bit of emotion in the pre-climax scene).
Wanted to say Kiran Abbavaram has improved but how can I say that? He was very good in Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru. Maybe I can say comeback?! Coming to the movie again, technically brilliant too. Bgm and fight sequences were bangers. And To every film maker out there, PLEASE stop showing r*pe scenes. It's unbearable and outdated.
