"Ouseppinte Osiyathu" is a touching portrayal of family dynamics that resonates deeply with anyone who's navigated the complexities of familial bonds. The story of a father and his sons coming together to resolve an unexpected challenge is both compelling and uplifting. The film beautifully captures the emotional nuances of their journey, blending tension with moments of warmth and understanding. The performances are heartfelt, and the direction keeps the narrative engaging, making it a must-watch for those who appreciate meaningful storytelling. A delightful surprise that left me reflecting on the importance of family unity!
Movie is very serious in its approach and might not be successful in box office due to the lack of entertainment aspects like fights , comedy, heroism of Main actor ...
Positives : Nice Acting especially by Dileesh Pothan , Kalabhaban Shajon, Vijayaraghavan, Lena, attractive visuals - the movie is shot in Idukki district with areas like Peerumedu , kattappana the night scenes are especially visible and good, most scenes are full of greenery and breeze, good background score and there is only one song which is not bad
Negatives : climax is sudden and may not satisfy majority, simple storyline.

Start till first half of the movie was pretty decent -a but slow, but realistic, showing a slice of life with good dialogues, screenplay and pretty good acting - but from middle to end - story just meanders and honestly the director and actors themselves were all over the place - the grounded, slice of life and realistic elements get stretched at many occasions in the second half.
Now that being said some of the performances were really good - but I do have a bone to pick some steller actors not used to anywhere their potential like Vigayaragavan, Kani Kusruti, Sherin Shihab etc.
Climax was slightly better - but it came out a bit abruptly. A better screenplay and more skilled director could have made this into decent movie - as it stands if you give this a miss, you won't be regretting at all. But should you watch, the first half would engage and you can skip through the later parts.

Rating - 3.5/5
An emotionally burning family drama set on the backdrop of a hillside town in Idukki.
The plot of the story is about a planter & his family where the film explores the variations in their relationship dynamics on their selfish urge for survival.
The movie initiates in a cold mood but takes coherence as the story progresses and the director has maintained the pace of the movie demanded by the story but the main plot is highly predictive. Fazal Hassan has penned a good screenplay portraying the emotional dynamics and layers of the main characters. The movie gives us a medium for reflecting upon ourselves on what will be our move on an emotionally broken situation within our immediate family circle. The climax sequence was a thought provoking move by the filmmakers leaving the audience numb.
Subtle performance by Vijayaraghavan as the miser planter. Dileesh Pothen & Shajon has made stellar performances of their characters demanding abrupt emotional variations. Kani Kusruthi,Lena,Hemanth Menon,Joji & Zarin Shihab made convincing performances.
Good shots by Arvind Kannabiran capturing the essence of the hilly terrain. A good family drama that is worth watching with intense and disturbing performances.

This movie had a simple plot and keeping aside the flows in the screenplay, the execution was above average. The veteran actors helped elevate the movie so that it wouldn't collapse like a house of cards.
The cinematography and production design deserves 10/10. It's always a refreshing experience to see Idukki on the big screen.
As mentioned above, there were a few flows in the screenplay that could have been easily avoided. There was a possibility to execute the second half more smoothly.
All the actors have done a fine job and I guess that Dileesh Pothan selects a script that has that'minimum' quality and most of his movies are good to watch.
