Decent one-time watch!!

Web Series Review: Pill Streaming on Jio Cinema !!

Pill is the story of a few determined individuals fighting against the all powerful "Pharma Mafia" who are in cahoots with the "Babus" in order to circulate substandard drugs in the market & carry out illegal trials on unsuspecting members of the underprivileged community for their greed and profit !!

Directed by Rajkumar Gupta who has given us films like Raid, No One Killed Jessica & Amir in the past, Pill turns out to be an engaging watch.

Coming to the cast , Riteish Deshmukh as Dr. Prakash gives an earnest performance as the protagonist though his Bihari accent is a bit off track. His partners in crime Gursimran ( Anshul Chouhan) as his subordinate in MAI and A quirky journalist Noor ( Akshat Chouhan) too give top notch performances. Pawan Malhotra as Brahma Gill , the head honcho of Forever Cure Pharma , also the antagonist here is in full form and gives a realistic tone to the whole ambience. Riteish's faceoff scenes with his mentor Dr. Basu ( Baharul Islam ) are a class apart.

However the series is not perfect and some typical bollywood style predictability creeps in to give the "All's well that ends well" kind of a vibe. It could've been made a bit more gripping and intense.

All in all a decent one-time watch, especially with short episodes ( except for the last 2 ). Decently presented with a realistic depiction of the Pharma- Political- Doctor nexus that will cause u to introspect next time u decide to visit medical practitioners for treatment and place ur blind trust on the medicines prescribed by them.

Going with 3/5 for this one.. Adios 🙂!!

Great Series

Awesome storyline and acting by all the cast! Really enjoyed the serious acting by Riteish Deshmukh. He should definitely try his hands at this genre more! We already know what an awesome actor he is when it comes to comedy ! Keep it up "Bhava" ! Loved you. Also best thing about the series was there was nothing over the top or too much heroic or larger than life heroism shown. Just a quiet and great battle of a common and honest sarkari babu against the corrupt GIANT company and his own corrupt colleagues who constantly try to stop him Each character had so much "character" in them - for example wife of Riteish, Noor khan, Dr Basu , Ashish Khanna - All character shine ! No dull moments hence a must watch !!

A must watch for Everyone

This series is a must watch for everyone, which tells you how corruption is engrossed in every part of the system. Also, this has to be Reteish Deshmukh's best performance onscreen. He was just just amazing to watch, a complete delight. Also the supporting casts were really good and added the right mix to the entire series.

For people trying to find flaw in the series, they may be able to do so, however, I think it was truly a genuine attemp to bring awareness about the daibolical nature of the pharma industry.

A lot of times, viewers will find themselves helpless thought the series, showing the plight of common man.

Again a must watch !!

The series excels in its pacing, balancing intense action with emotional depth. Each episode leaves you eagerly anticipating the next, thanks to its cleverly placed cliffhangers and plot twists. What sets Pill apart is its ability to blend genres seamlessly, offering something for everyone. Whether you're into drama, mystery, or action, this series has it all. It's not just entertainment; it's a thought-provoking narrative that explores themes of insert relevant themes, e.g., love, betrayal, justice.

A Must Must Watch !

1. Story : What a Great Relevant and Most Important Topic of our Times. Present-Post Covid-19 Era Healthcare become the one of the most important integral part of every Family atleast. Having said that, the Medication Pill is most integral part of Treatment Process i.e. Symptoms Diagnosis, Treatment Procedure, Medication. Apart from that Medical Industry, Pharma Industry, Govt Quality and Control, Safty Standards, Beaurucracy, Politics, Sense of National Duty, Society Patterns, Family Issues, Individual Dilemma and Struggles etc everything is covered. On that part web series has done justice.

2. Acting : Overall Two Prime Actors has done Justice to their roles at same time Supporting Actors done their job perfectly. Even sometimes they overtake the Lead Actors.

3. BGM : Classy

4. Screenplay : Smooth no hiccups.

Bold Indian thriller but not revolutionary

Pill Season 1 is a Hindi-language thriller on JioCinema, created and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The show exposes the corrupt nexus of India's pharmaceutical industry.

It stars Riteish Deshmukh as Dr. Prakash Chauhan, a deputy medicines controller, and Pawan Malhotra as the ruthless CEO Brahma Gill of Forever Cure Pharma. The eight-episode series follows Prakash's crusade against unethical drug proliferation after uncovering trial deaths.

The story is rooted in real-world issues like the 2013 Ranbaxy scandal, and unfolds with a whistleblower's social media post which drives Prakash to confront a pharma-politician-doctor nexus.

Pacing is brisk in episodes 1-4 but slows in 5-6, with a rushed finale, unlike Paatal Lok's relentless intensity or The Night Of's taut arcs. Themes of corporate greed and justice resonate but lack Sacred Games's layered subtext. Deshmukh's nuanced portrayal, supported by Malhotra's menacing Gill, outshines Money Heist's ensemble but falls short of Succession's character depth. Production values are solid, with gritty Patiala visuals, though editing and music are functional, not iconic like The Valhalla Murders' chilling score.

Pill engages with its topical premise, sparking introspection about healthcare trust, but its emotional stakes are modest compared to Your Honor's family drama. For Indian audiences, it's grittier than Panchayat but less polished than Heeramandi. Globally, it shares The Undoing's investigative drive but lacks Money Heist's high stakes.

A compelling one-time watch, Pill is recommended for thriller fans and those interested in social issues.

A Masterpiece by Ronnie.... I Beg for part 2

One word, Excellent ! In every department.

Story is what we expect in Ronnie's work and he exactly delivered this beautifully and narrated in excellent way.

Many thanks for this Masterpiece Ronnie and this is what we always expect from you.. You have always raised the bar higher. Keep going man.

Lots of love to all the team member who were part of this web series.

Cast: cautiously choosen as per their roles and requirements and they did exactly what required.

Ritesh, hats off Man, you are such a gem, thanks for this and keep going. Furthermore, other co actors were fantabulous.

Nothing less than 10 star, please ensure the 2nd part as this industry needs more eye openers and whistle blowers. Ronnie you must have heard about the discrepancy in lab tests and people are dying due to wrong reports. (Practices like basin tests is very common) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just above average

Ok to watch one time.basically theme is medical field and mixed with some trill moments .we expect more watching the promotions but not to that mark.season one is more than enough for this theme.a indian web-series watcher will be disappointed if he wish to watch something thrilling and with unexpected Twists and trills .this is good in a way that the theme is different and we expect huge twists and things we dont know ,but. "Pill" is an intriguing web series that offers a fresh take on the genre. It blends elements of drama and mystery effectively, though it occasionally stumbles with pacing issues. The storyline, centered around a group of individuals whose lives intersect through a mysterious pill, is engaging and thought-provoking. The performances are solid, and the production values are commendable, but some characters lack depth, which impacts the overall impact. While it may not stand out as a masterpiece, "Pill" is a worthwhile watch for those interested in a suspenseful narrative with some clever twists. Its average rating reflects its solid but not groundbreaking execution.

Amazing

Amazing series but classic H M connections.

H - Owns pharma company and M is most honest journalist who is very Mazhabi but who says JSK are corrupt and bad.

However, the we all should understand the reality is 99% other way around.

H are greedy and M are super honest and do anything for the work. Even only H runs after the Actors and Actress but M is only focusing on work and ethics. Also M paryer in the background while doing good work but H will say JSK and do all bad works.

However, the story is nicely written and nicely defamed H community. With H and M this could have done but no they will not do it. Lots of H community's God's references but mostly negatively.
