Web Series Review- The Hunt ...The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case streaming on Sony Liv !!
A gripping web series directed by Nagesh Kukunoor that chronicles the 90 day manhunt following the assassination of India's ex PM Rajiv Gandhi at a rally in Sriperumbudur by the LTTE using a suicide bomber!!
One hell of a web series .. bhai maza aa gaya dekh ke . No known names barring Amit Sial but every member of the cast is brilliant.
No over the top antics.. no special effects, just plain old fashioned investigation. Activating the informer network or in many cases just plain luck gives the investigating team leads and helps them move closer to nabbing the perps.
Even the main antagonist here Sivarasan is shown to be a person who easily blends in , non-assuming but sinister to the core. Sends a chill down ur spine with his "one eyed jack" look.
Highly recommended!! Loved every moment of this 7 episode web series. Go for it !!

Movie Review: Jurassic World - Rebirth screening in cinemas near u!!
In the latest addition of this iconic franchise.. two stories move in parallel. The first one involves a group of mercenaries led by Scarlett Johansson, hired by a unscrupulous pharma company, out to get DNA samples of 3 types of dinosaurs , avian , terrestrial and aquatic.
The 2nd story is a family of 4 , completely bonkers sailing dinosaur infested deep seas , when they get attacked and their yacht capsizes. They r rescued by the mercenary group. As they reaches their destination ,an remote island, where the last remaining pterodactyls reside, all hell breaks loose.
Some absurdities ..in a flashback scene, in a laboratory on a remote island, a group of scientists are attempting to create mutated dinosaurs when disaster strikes. This incident is caused by... believe it or not - short s Circuit due a Snickers bar wrapper.. seriously guys .. our bollywood guys write better 😁.
On the island , a long abandoned lab suddenly powers up without any difficulty to aid our heroes escape in the end . Believe it or not there is a jeep and a boat rusting there . Yet our adventurous protagonists have no problems starting both and finally making their great escape.
Script is weak .. with the characters doing ludicrous things as coincidences pileup .Steven Spielberg is listed as the producer, but you do wonder if maybe he was on holiday at the time.
As far as the cast is concerned, Scarlett Johansson is great and others have done a decent job too.
The special effects are awesome as usual and this is the only reason u shud watch it in theatres!!
Kids will enjoy it for sure. Timepass!!
The movie as a whole is ok ok ... Nothing new that we haven't seen till date. Not bad, but surely a dampner for people going with high expectations.
Will go with 2.5/5 for this one .. Adios 🙂!!

Movie Review: Sitare Zameen Par screening in cinema halls near you!!
A very "late lateef" review as most of you might have seen this by now ... Here goes ..
Will directly go onto how I felt after watching the film
Positives: Heartwarming and feel good vibes galore. Especially the banter between Amir Khan and his Neuro divergent team is great to watch. Has quite a few funny moments especially during the first half. Hats off to the ensemble cast , especially those portraying the neuro divergent team.. beautifully essayed .
Amir Khan's performance covers a broad spectrum, sometimes being over the top while sometimes getting into the skin of the character perfectly. A mixed bag actually .
Underwhelming aspects: the film tends to drag a bit especially during the 2nd half with the climax that feels a bit overstretched . Not bad but cudve been better.
When compared with the Taare Zameen Par.. this film falls short of expectations.
Overall a decently well made film with high emotional quotient and a msg abt specially abled individuals !!
Going with 3/5 for this one .. Adios 🙂!!
