Sure, I opted to sit down and watch the 2024 movie "The Christmas Brew". And I have to say that the movie's synopsis sounded refreshing, as it was a detour from the usually overly formulaic sappy movies that flood the screens during the Christmas season. So yeah, I have to say that I was harboring some expectations to writer and director Vincenzo Conrorio's 2024 movie.
However, the movie turned out to be bland. The narrative was slow paced and rather boring actually. And the movie had a frightening lack of Christmas spirit, so "The Christmas Brew" would perhaps be better named just "The Brew". I didn't get any particular Christmas vibe from the movie, and i had been expecting some, I must admit. So yeah, I was disappointed.
Of the entire cast ensemble, I was only familiar with actor LeJon Woods and actress Kaitlyn Lunardi. I will say that leading actress really stood out in the movie, as her Charisma really stole the spotlight. As for leading actor James Liddell, acting opposite of Kaitlyn Lunardi, well he was just simply not cutting it for me, as his performance seemed half-hearted and lackluster. There was no chemistry between the two leading performers, and Kaitlyn Lunardi was simply in a whole different league than her co-star actor James Liddell was.
If you sit down to watch "The Christmas Brew", and hoping you're in for a tradition sappy Christmas movie, then you'll be sorely disappointed, just as I was.
This is definitely not a movie that will become a Christmas classic, nor is it a movie that I would ever return to watch a second time.
My rating of writer and director Vincenzo Conrorio's 2024 movie "The Christmas Brew" lands on a bland three out of ten stars.

This was a cute movie. It's not going to win any awards but it is the standard genre that we've seen over and over... Protagonist -- after a romantic break-up or otherwise non-working relationship -- works for a large conglomerate, sent to the hinterlands to shut down a small company... at holiday time!! Protagonist and owner of company develop feelings for each other, complications ensue, romance triumphs.
In this case, the story centers around a local, small brewery that appears to be the center of the town. Protagonist's boss is clearly a jerk so we're happy when she learns the truth. Predictable story but the two leads have some nice film chemistry!
