Jessy Holtermann is a SAG-AFTRA actress, filmmaker, and acting coach with over a decade of experience working with children and nurturing creativity in others. Her journey into acting began as a shy kid whose parents signed her up for an acting class, hoping it would help her come out of her shell. While it didn't erase the shyness, it sparked something else: a love for play, storytelling, and the freedom to express herself fully.
That early spark led Jessy to NYC's Professional Performing Arts School, followed by a BA in Theater and Education Studies from The New School. She also trained in the Meisner technique with Suzanne Esper at the William Esper Studio.
Jessy excels at playing the duality of a grounded, compassionate voice of reason and a sunny go-getter with a sassy spark. Recent credits include the reluctant heroine in War of the Worlds: Extinction opposite Billy Baldwin, an overzealous cult-like follower in Get Rich or Die Trying (Lifetime), and the vulnerable yet driven lead in The Christmas Venue.
Behind the camera, Jessy is a passionate filmmaker with a love for character-driven stories. She has written, produced, and starred in several short films that have screened at multiple festivals. Her short Henrietta, which she created entirely on her own during the pandemic, won Best Pandemic Short at the Queens World Film Festival, where she was also nominated for Best Actress.
In addition to acting and filmmaking, Jessy is an experienced coach who is deeply committed to nurturing creativity in others. She has taught at NYC schools including LREI, Berkeley Carroll, and CAST, and offers private coaching for both children and adults.
