The video book starts off with a ball being hosted by a nobleman who needs one of his three daughters to marry a duke who has no interest in marrying. The story with the video is intriguing and pulled me in, eventually giving me a link to download Pocket FM (app) to continue the story.
Turns out it's an audio book without any video narrated by a woman who attempts poorly at imitating a man's voice. Cheap switch. Get additional actors to at least voice the various characters, but for gods sake don't have a woman pretend a deep man's voice. Not to insult her, but she really does a horrid job at it. Aside from the lack of video.

I story is wonderful & I enjoy the characters. However, I would also like to actually watch it with the cast that has Jaycob Ornelas Maya in it. I downloaded the app just for that purpose. I've enjoyed the audiobook over on Pocket FM & I've seen clips of the series being acted out by the collective cast Jaycob Maya was a part of. If it's not released yet because the audio series on Pocket FM hasn't been completed then someone should announce that so we fans are in such turmoil trying to find it. It really is disappointing. Like I had stated above the story itself is wonderful & I'd like to see more from that author but also speak for many when I say please release the video series thank you.
It's a great story and it starts wonderfully. Then, it switches from actors voices to voice-over which was confusing. A woman was voicing his part? I dont understand why the actors couldn't continue voicing the story? I didn't finish due to not wrong into it after that. If they ever release the actors voices, I'll listen. Kinda felt like bait n switch by Pocket. I was invested in the voices I listened to for half an hour. Kinda jarring to switch n not fair to listener. The acting was wonderful though. It would he fun to see this as a daily motion movie with all these same actors. They deserve better than part of a story.
I SOOO enjoy this version, primarily for Jaycob Ornelas Maya as Duke Edgar Collins) he is very handsome, and very believable as Duke Collins. Sean McHugh is a very talented actor, and is more of the image of Alfred that I have in my head. While the initial movie stops, the story continues with a photos/voice over, and its still easy enough to follow along the storyline. The chapters flow seemlessly, allowing the viewer to even look at the scenes (stories) from an investigative standpoint. Then, you will want to look up additional chapters online, all the while envisioning the characters going forward, even seeing them as friends. The Duke's Masked Bride is daily my guilty pleasure.
