    Christmas vs vampires

It is Christmas Eve. Five criminals in Christmas costumes have robbed a bank. Four of them arrive at a roadside motel to get a room. Unbeknownst to them, there are beautiful women holding a girl captive in the hotel and they are vampires.

This starts on the wrong foot. It doesn't make sense that these criminals dressed in their costumes are booking a room while brazenly waving their guns. At that moment, I realized that form is more important than substance for this one. Obviously, somebody had the brilliant idea of Christmas characters going against vampires. Almost as obvious, those people did not think it all the way through.

    Better than expected

I wasn't expecting much from this, but have to admit I was pleasantly surprised how fun and entertaining this was. A little slow at first but rapidly picked up steam. The last 30 minutes was really good. Led by the always reliable British actor Simon Phillips as leader of a gang who just robbed a bank and are hiding out in a motel on Christmas Eve. Little do they know that a bunch a female Vampires are also staying there. Sort of a clever scenario with some comedy elements make this totally watchable which is more than I can say about many other recent theatrical releases. The acting with some of the supporting players may not be up to standards because of the low budget, but it somehow all seems to work here anyway.

    Silent Fart

The idea of this movie is very interesting, that's what got me watching it in the first place. But I regretted doing so, cause the quality is so pitiful. The acting from most actors are second rate at best. The logic of its plot only works for kids who are still in kindergarten. I mean, using a spoon to kill a vampire?! Really? What do you think their skin are made of? Tofu?! LMFAO. And they didn't stay consistent with the vampire lore that they're using. At the end of the movie there's a vampire walking in the sunrise but not getting incinerated to dust. How the heck did that happen?! Because the screen writer said so? Major facepalm! I don't wanna be a jerk, so I added another star to my initial rating. I really think that in the hands of the right director and screen writers, this movie can turn out better. Way better!

If you love vampire movies and a bit drunk go for it :)

Obviously this is not a high budget movie so don't expect interview with the vampire storyline and acting.

This the kind of movie you watch with your friends after you had a couple of drinks already and you gonna have a good laugh or scare...

Actually the editing and directing is not bad at all some of the acting are also okey. But what i don't get at least get a good consistent writing if you don't have the budget for effects and cast.

Cause the writing is sometimes atrocious. They borrowing lines for other famous english movies but they don't work here in this movie.

The fact in a small hotel vampires do nothing for hours and sometimes based on the editing it takes a vampire to get from one room to another an hour..other times it takes 2 minutes is just poor writing.

Overall get some friends get some drinks and everytime a stupid scene happens in the movie have a shot you might have a good time :)

    Good Flawed Fun

I see the typical horror haters at it again. But as usual, ignore most of them As horror fans know to do. This is a low budget film and should be gone into as such. I knew that when I bought the bluray, but I also knew it would be decent fun and it was. I was pretty surprised at the dialog, which was way more witty, well delivered and engaging than I thought it would be. I laughed quite a bit as was intended at some of the snaps, quips and comebacks. The characters, were also surprisingly engaging and likable and the banter between them well executed.

Of course there are flaws, but interestingly most of them are production related, and almost entirely and obviously budgetary. With limited resources for special effects most of what could have been juicy kills were sideways or off screen, leaving the film lacking in that department, I don't really knock off way too much considering that it's only a money thing holding the film back as opposed to bad acting, bad story or poor direction on screen. All of which this film was fine and fun with.

So yeah, that is disappointing but in this film's case, the fun had with what special effects were there, and the dialog and crisp writing and character development and engagement made up for quite a bit of it. In the end it was a fun little film with some fun characters and laughs. Good effort on those notes. Glad I have it in my collection.
