An Ode to Simplicity: Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Masterstroke in Uttarakhand

Nawazuddin Siddiqui shines like never before in this understated gem, delivering a performance that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The film's locations, nestled in the serene beauty of Uttarakhand, add to its charm, making you fall in love with the simplicity of both the land and the character, Rautu. The supporting cast does an exceptional job, but it's Nawaz's portrayal that truly stands out, effortlessly bringing depth to his character. The storyline is compelling, weaving through the narrative with a gentle yet captivating pace. While a few scenes, like the bar sequence, betray the film's modest budget, they are minor blemishes in an otherwise well-crafted film. In an era where originality in Bollywood is a rarity, this movie shines through with its refreshing approach. Despite its lack of action, which feels unnecessary, it ticks all the boxes of a good Bollywood film and could have easily been a hit in theaters. This movie is a testament to the fact that sometimes, less is indeed more.

    Nice Slow Burn Suspense Drama

The movie was a bit slow and felt like an extended episode of a BBC series about Cop/Detective/Sleuth in a rural setting. Nawaz is pretty decent and the story has a somewhat surprising twist in the end but there isnt much happening through most of the movie to keep its audience fully engaged. Rajesh Kumar provides some decent comic relief and is pretty fun to watch. Overall nice story with decent performances. I would recommend to fans of Nawaaz or slow burn suspense dramas. The overall plot is pretty good and reveal is a nice surprise. Watch it for Nawaz. It is Nice but nothing special. 6/10.

    An insipid yet interesting whodunit!!

Movie Review: Rautu ka Raaz streaming on Zee5 !!

An insipid yet interesting whodunit based in a sleepy town of Rautu Ki Beli in Uttarakhand, where no murder has been reported in the last 15 years. When the unnatural death of a warden at a School for Blind children disturbs the peace of sleepy Rautu, Inspector Deepak Negi ( Nawazuddin Siddiqui) takes it upon himself to solve the mystery.

Aaram aaram se chalta hai sab kuch !! No hurry at all ... Time slows down and so does the narrative. If u r in a mood for some fast paced stuff better skip this one. But if u have watched and enjoyed films like " Manorama - 6. Feet under" , you will find this film worth watching. Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the protagonist with his sidekick Inspector Dimri (Rajesh Kumar - Roshesh of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame) do their best to wander around , question the unwilling suspects, encounter political pressure and yet solve the mystery !!

The film has its flaws , some side stories are introduced & then left in the lurch making u wonder the purpose of having them in the first place. However the film has a twist in the end which has been revealed very well 👍👍

An offbeat kind of a film .. not for people who love the mar dhaad , dhishoom dhishoom kind of films!! I enjoyed it ... A decent one time watch.

Going with 3/5 for this one !! Adios 🙂

    Must Watch this unique story

"This movie may start off at a slow pace, and some scenes may feel exaggerated, particularly those featuring Inspector Dinesh Negi.

However, the film's clever plot twist will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Just when you think you've identified the culprit, the tables turn, and the real murderer is revealed. The U-Turn in the story is expertly executed, making the movie a thrilling ride from start to finish.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui's exceptional acting skills and comedic timing add to the entertainment value, keeping the audience engaged throughout. The film's slow and steady pace ultimately pays off, making it a worthwhile watch."

"The story skillfully weaves a tale of how good individuals can be misled and suspected by exploiting their vulnerabilities.

It highlights how criminal minds, particularly women in this case, cleverly manipulate these weaknesses to fulfill their sinister desires. The narrative expertly showcases how innocent people can be trapped in a web of deceit, making it a gripping and thought-provoking thriller."

    Thriller with Different Approach

    Fresh Approach in Bollywood Thriller:

Raut Ka Raaz 2024; the addition in the saga of Bollywood Crime Thriller leaves behind some points to ponder about and that is what provides the Movie extra elevation. The point remains credible whether this Movie falls in the category of Bollywood Crime Thriller as per this theme has been experimented with diverse approaches during the last few years in Indian cinema. But Raut Ka Raaz 2024 is different one.

Storyline: The theme of the Movie shows the potentially in the art of Storytelling by the writer. The action revolves round a Murder taking place in a School for the Blind Children. But nevertheless, it's outline doesn't make anyone bored. Some other sequences relevant in Crime Investigation have been included in the Movie. But the important point is: nothing seems deviation from the central theme. The Scenes shoot in the exotic atmosphere of Uttarakhand beauty is in itself metaphorical. Similarly, presenting evil in this beautiful atmosphere is a brilliant irony and both the writer and those who work from the behind have made this more relevant narrating life in a Blind Boarding School. Through, a parallel story of teen-age Romance and it's connection with the heinous Crime like Murder do not seem deviations. The Story proves why the School for the Blind Children is the Centre of Action in this Movie. Brilliant indeed.

Characterization: The Movie proves the Potential of Nawazuddin Siddiqi as an actor and why he is attributed so much in today's Bollywood Movie. In this film , Nawaz looks more attractive and matured. But problem with Nawazuddin has been his voice that impacts his dialogue delivery. Nawazuddin is brilliant when performs with facial expression. But his voice quality restricts him to perform in certain roles. No doubt, Nawaz has made brilliant performances in the lead role of the Movie. But I feel, the role could have been more attractive with a befitting voice. This rather exposes why this reputed actor should be more selective. Nevertheless, it is also true that Nawaz alone alone takes forward the entire action in the Movie.

Other Characters are also good in the Movie.

But weakness of the Movie is its characterization. There are too many unnecessary Characters in the Movie. Another weakness is: as it is a Movie and not Series, the writer should have unveiled all aspects. But this has not been done. The end of the Movie is rather stereotypical and the song included at the end neither sounds good nor serves any purpose. The Movie Raut Ka Raaz 2024 proves yet again that the Playback singing doesn't have any place in today's Indian Movies made of brilliant ideas with an experimental approach.

Final View: The Movie Raut Ka Raaz 2024 is a significant addition to Bollywood Crime Thriller. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has made excellent performances during the entire Movie. Hope this one will get more positive responses from the audience and critics.
