Colorless Green

Jaz/Nora seems like she went to the Kristen Stewart school of acting. Most other people cast in this movie were awful too. Story itself had an interesting concept but think it could have been done better and movies extended longer.

I am going to do my best to include no spoilers in this review.

This is about an intelligent teen who makes some very foolish decisions. A computer wizard, she invents an algorithm that could change the face of police work. What she does with that information is what this movie is about.

Unfortunately, the film is very slow paced. It has a decent climax and an okay ending, but fails really to say anything, make a point, and as a morality play falls way short. It's basically about an intelligent teen doing stupid things. Perhaps the director thinks the point trying to be made came across to the audience, but all in all what we're left with is "What was she thinking?"... and not much more.

The one idea of this move would have made a decent 20 minute short. Instead it was stretched with irrelevant filler to add an hour to try to make it a feature film.

But that didn't work. It was still too short and devoid of content.

The title perfectly describes the film, in a Noam Chomsky sort of way.

I gather this movie never made it at the box office. Yet another example of a fine piece of film making gone unappreciated. And it seems to me this movie could have been a commercial success if more people knew about it.

It was a crime drama with an imaginative plot. The acting and directing were good.

I found it thorougly enjoyable.
