Well, that's two hours of some of the most intense medical functioning I've ever seen in a drama. There is particular focus in this one. It has to do with the treatment of patients on the brink. One family is dealing with an elderly father who has put forth a DNR, but his children can't accept this since they have power of attorney. We have the parents of a teenage boy who obviously got some bad drugs laced with fentanyl.
While this is happening a young black woman comes in, suffering from sickle cell. And a little boy who inadvertently ate some gummies that had marijuana. Their issue is with the stupidity of the father, having them in a coat pocket.
Meanwhile, rats have gotten loose in the ER from under the coat of a homeless man who was brought in. This is a great show, but can they keep up the intnsity.

Of course we have more doc carter, the chief of the er.. looking for the female senior resident's approval.. she aint the one looking his way.. it is always him
dude with the dog collar.. always a man.. not a woman going through it..
notice when doc carter got second guessed by senior resident.. it was all good..
when dull eyed med 4 second guessed that female doc, she responded very aggressively
anyway.. feminism right..
anyway, mel and langdon are the best duo.
Second episode, the r2 ex convict barely appeared.
Little bro got a taste of how sad it is to lose a patient..
the show is crazy good even tho we have some nonsense going on sometimes.

Wow, it feels like the show is always at full throttle. This episode was jam-packed with drama, intensity, and emotion. I felt the chaos throughout. Even with the constant stream of patient cases, there were still moments of character development.
The characters themselves are starting to be established, and each one has clear flaws that will likely be explored as the season progresses. Unlike many other medical dramas, the characters feel much more real. I can't speak to the show's accuracy from a medical perspective, but it definitely feels like they are making an effort to be as authentic as possible.
I'm excited to see how the season unfolds, and it's refreshing to have a new and unique medical drama.
