A Great Representation Of Being With Remembering Loved Ones

June 9, 2022 is when I lost my grandpa. When I got the news i was devestated and heartbroken. All I could think about is the experiences I would no longer get with him.

Cut to this episode. Watching this made me remember all of the little things I did with him. This episode is a great representation of remembering those we love, for me of course people have differing views on such matters.

In all, I enjoy this show. Shore the writing in the second season is not the best but I still enjoy and come back to it because of the characters.

This franchise was built on that and the actors do a great job a portraying that.

I love you grandpa. I hope your resting comfortably.

    A Fantastic Adaptation

Okay, let me start by saying you people are ridiculous at this point with the hating on this season. Not sure if it's review bombing or just being intentionally hardheaded. This was some incredible acting from Pedro and Bella, like some of the best of the year and that's saying something after we just had Andor and it's stellar performances.

As a player of the game, I really appreciate the way they do the flashbacks. Some are scene for scene recreations of the game, and some are altered a bit. I think they did an excellent job with both. A masterclass in acting and writing.

Cant wait to see where things go from here. I wasn't expected one of the flashbacks they did, but I'm really happy with how they did it. I don't know how people are hating this season so much, but for me as a fan of the game, I'm digging it a lot.

The type of episode that really makes you really think about your life and values. Masterful storytelling with every aspect of the episode being executed to perfection. I haven't seen writing acting and visuals complement each other so effortlessly and beautifully in a long time. Truly shows the power of film as a medium.

It can reshape your life, bring new meaning, and create shared cultural memories. The emotional resonance lingers long after viewing, inviting multiple rewatches to fully appreciate its nuanced layers. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey's performances deserves recognition for their raw vulnerability. Gustavo Santaolalla's score heightens each pivotal moment without overshadowing the narrative's intimate human connections. An absolute gem, thank you HBO.

All the awards for Pedro Pascal

This was a beautiful, heartbreaking episode, that sums up very well the joy and pain that comes with parenting, and the absolute gut-punch of the necessity of having to let your child go to find their own way through life. Pedro Pascal puts on an absolute master class in acting, with able assists from Bella Ramsey and Joe Pantoliano. I find that I could watch this episode time and again and still draw more meaning from it each time. I wasn't sure that I was going to enjoy the second season as much as the first, but have found that episodes such as this have rewarded my decision to continue viewing.

    Where there's love, there's loyalty.

And you can tell this adaptation of the game was made with so much love and care. The attention to detail, the respect for the original story, and the emotional weight behind every scene-it's just impressive. There are changes, yes, and the writers took some bold steps, but honestly, they worked perfectly for me. Pedro and Bella are insanely good. Their chemistry, their range, their depth-it all adds up to a breathtaking performance. I try not to comment as a fan of the game, but it's hard not to. The series has my heart, and every episode feels like a gift to those of us who loved the game for years. It's not just good TV-it's a love letter.

    • Trivia
Pedro Pascal was emotional during filming, particularly towards the end of production; he spent some time on set afterwards talking to Neil Druckmann and the crew. Craig Mazin recalled that Pascal and Bella Ramsey naturally performed "in a very real, cool way", prompting him to seek "one magical take" where they act with full emotions in the porch scene. Druckmann cried while filming the porch scene, and noticed others on set doing the same.

    • Quotes

Joel Miller: Making a cure... would've killed you.

Ellie Williams: Then I was supposed to die!

      [Crying]

Ellie Williams: That was my purpose! My life would've fucking mattered! But you took that from me... you took it from everyone!

Joel Miller: Yes. And I'll pay the price... because you're gonna turn away from me. But if somehow I had a second chance at that moment... I would do it all over again.

      Ellie Williams: Because you're selfish.

Joel Miller: [Choking up] Because I love you. In a way you... you can't understand. Maybe you never will. But if that day should come... if you should ever have one of your own... well, then, I hope you do a little better than me.
