World Eats Bread

First episode about sourdough in the Bay Area brought me home, but please - Point Reyes is not pronounced /ray ezz/ by locals; rather, it's just /rayz/. I know that's not accurate Spanish, but that's how it is pronounced. Additionally, Point Reyes is not a town, but an area - Point Reyes Station is the town. Bothers me when documentaries don't do basic homework - certainly, they must interview the people they showcase, so get it right when you present.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the first episode - the historical elements that were added alongside stories of the bakers: great. Look forward to the rest of the series.

I really wanted to watch something that was not politically motivated but lo and behold somehow baker Z had to mentioned that he has never seen a black baker. (knowing that is a NG production, I'm sure it was orchestrated inorganically for propaganda measurements) My goodness I don't know if it's his very small narrow world or this guy just doesn't pay attention. Talk about low self esteem and victimization. For one to say they never seen a black baker is like saying you never seen a black actor. I'm so tired of these narrative being pushed as fact when it's just absolutely unnecessary not to mention and disrespectful to all those person who worked hard in back breaking fields in the industry of food/beverage/hospitality. Basically what this documentary did was take what is the fundamental backbone to American lifestyles and trend it up to make it at best DISHONEST!
