The Light of Freedom

I have no idea where all these good reviews are coming from, clearly we did not see the same flim. This movie, if you can even call it that, is laughable horrible, from what I can tell this was the whole cast and crews first time making a movie. The acting is abysmal, all the actors have about the same enthusiasm as a plank of wood. The camera work is extremely basic, only still shots and panning around. The lighting and sound is absolutely horrendous, many of the shots are either to dim or to bright, the audio sounds like it was recorded in a broom closet and the stale delivery of the dialog doesn't help. This is definitely not a rich captivating war drama, I would say you could show it to kids but they would probably get bored of it. If your looking for a good civil war movie, I recommend "12 Years a Slave" and "Harriet."

If you are a history buff, you will enjoy this one.

I have to agree with the 1- star review. The story is alright, but the acting is so stilled. It was as bad as a high school play; a few talented actors, a lot of actors just saying lines. The continuous piano music in the background gets old very quickly. It's not all bad, but enough of it is that I almost turned it off. It was just something to watch. It felt like someone's low-budget attempt to put their personal beliefs and passion to film. I highly don't recommend this film... unless you Judy want something to watch. The one consolatation is that it has no sex or foul language. That's freshing.
