This Dutch adaption of a Spanish series was so much fun to watch! It has exactly the right amount of clichés. The situations, jokes and oneliners are perfectly matched to what's happening nowadays in the Netherlands. In between the scenes we see stunning shots of Rotterdam.
We follow four male friends who all struggle with their relationships and get questioned on what it means to be a man. Everything gets a laugh: the sensitive metrosexual, cheating, open relationships, parenting and the macho man. None of it subtle, but well executed.
Lots of laughs in each episode. The credits at the end of each episode clearly state that this is a remake of the Spanish original, so ignore the haters that say this is stolen.

Wow, so Netflix is just rehashing concepts that they already tried but in a different language? So original. The concept of the series is basically the same as alpha males and it follows the same storyline.
It's embarrassing to see Netflix rehashing successful concepts from other languages and then trying the same concept in a different language without changing anything.
I hope Netflix doesn't go this way, but hey, maybe it's time to change platform. Because apparently minimalistic effort is all that's required.
I don't mind the actors who put a lot of effort in it, but the concept is basically the same.

Unbelievable. This is exactly the same, to the comma, as Machos Alfa but in Dutch and much less funny. One more example of copying and misusing others' ideas and success instead of being original and creating their own, coming across as piracy.
How is this even allowed and possible Netflix and Dutch productions? Really really unethical behaviour, very disrespectful to all parties, viewers included. Do not support it.
Watch the original, the (really) good one, and do not sponsor this kind of initiatives and practices.
I wonder how do the actors and all other show makers feel about it.
No spoilers in this review.

Really enjoyed my time with the serie. It's really entertaining and funny. I"m Dutch too and I can relate to certain things. Highs and lows in a relationship, trust issues, dating, communication, raising kids as divorcees, the man versus women debate and gender roles. The episodes are long enough and never overstayed their welcome. Only 6 episodes which seems a bit short, but still a nice balance. I especially enjoyed the cast. They felt like real people and not actors acting like people. The locations were nice too. Set in Rotterdam I saw alot of familiair places. Season 2 can I be in it lol.
I promise you, alpha males (Spain) the original is sooooo much better!
It's a shame I think Netflix is seeing what hits and then just exactly copying it to another country. This is really a cheap way of creating content and massive creativity killer hence 1 star.
They already copied it to French and now to Dutch. This is NOT the way Netflix...
If you like the concept I really advice the original, it has a lot of depth, character development and it has 3 seasons so much more screen fun.
I normally don't give reviews but it really grinds my gears what Netflix is doing with this really good Spanish serie.
