If you value your time, if you value a decent writing, if you enjoy quality storytelling, if you actually want to scared or have some type of thrill in your horror films......DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. It was a waste of an hour and 30 odd mins that cant get back. It was way to long for what length of the story it was trying to tell.
There is something truly terrifying about this film. I read the other reviews and I think many have missed the true horror of this film. I only realized it after I finished it and then reflected on it a few hours later. This movie is truly chilling. After you watch it and truly reflect on the time you wasted and will never, ever get back... the time you wasted on this senseless poorly developed nonsense...the time that could have been spent with your friends, your family, your kids...wasted on this film...that is a genuine type horror many will never experience.
This film is terrible. TERRIBLE! Worst thing to come out of UK and I am including Brexit. It is hard to sit through. Its toothless and has nothing scary. Not even jump scares. It has no message. Nothing to say. Who ever wrote this surely is not Catholic. I doubt they have ever even read a bible with these religious inaccuracies. So much incorrect here it would be funny it is wasn't so pathetic. If you manage to make it through this dumpster fire, you should get a medal.

This movie is Garbage truck juice. Does garbage truck juice sound appealing? Sound entertaining? Sound like a good time? No. similarly this film is none of those things either. The only difference is garbage truck juice is rather scary whereas this movies isn't at all. I have seen scarier productions with toy spiders on a string than what this movie managed to produce. The plot of the movie is pointless and extremely boring. The effects were dreadful and the acting was worse than watching paint dry. The only silver lining here is that film company behind this repugnant trash, Black Eagle Films has closed its doors and left film making to those who are actually good at it.
This is the first time that I watched a movie without reading reviews before. But in this case it wouldn't have helped me because the reviews are mostly good. All the good reviews so far must come from the people who made this film or their family. It is impossible that an unbiased person likes this crap. We have here a Z-Film from the UK. It is so bad that I think some town folks bought a camera and made a movie after working hours. No professional film maker could come up with such bad acting. The script is mere terrible and a copy of every bad horror movie about religious evil ever made. The effects would shame Ed Wood. And the evil villain would bore a toddler. It is ridiculous! Don't waste your time with this piece of trash.
Boring, to the point that "boring" becomes an understatement. In no way scary. Poorly acted. Dreadful effects. A complete waste of time.
The acting is mostly high school drama class level, starting with the priest, continuing with the "flashback" teens and right on through with most of the rest of the cast, reaching a low with the Entity (demon). Leah Cooper and Duncan Malcolm are fine, but the rest... no.
The Entity (Michelle Coverley) could use acting lessons... MANY acting lessons. There's nothing intimidating, scary or convincing about her acting. She's awful, almost as if she was trying to do a parody, but couldn't even pull that off. She's distractingly bad, and it makes you wonder how they could have watched her and thought that it was "good to go". Maybe if they had used some audio processing to add some menace to her voice she wouldn't have been so bad. Maybe. We won't know (thankfully).
The "effects" are a joke.
There's no way anyone likes this film with more than 3 stars without being attached to the film in some way, either as a cast/crew member or a relative/friend. There's just no way.
Basically, "low budget" is no excuse. If you can't afford decent actors, a good story, or decent effects, then you shouldn't make the movie in the first place. You don't get a ribbon just for trying. Don't do it if you can't do it right. And for the record, there are any number of low budget films that did do it right. This will never be confused with those.
