Spinal Tap have re-recorded their classic song “Stonehenge” with the legendary Elton John for the upcoming sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, as well as an accompanying companion album, titled The End Continues. Both the film and the album will arrive on September 12th.

“Stonehenge” was one of the highlights in the original 1984 movie, This Is Spinal Tap, as made famous in the hilarious scene in which the band plays onstage alongside an 18-inch Stonehenge prop instead of an 18-foot one.

The music video (and likely full scene from the sequel) shows Spinal Tap finally playing in front of that 18-foot Stonehenge they originally desired, as they are joined by Elton on piano and vocals.

The 40-year-old “Woman’s World” pop star launched her latest trek on Wednesday night (April 23) at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City.

The tour is in support of her latest studio album 143, and also includes a bunch of hits and deep cuts from her discography, including “Teenage Dream,” “Dark Horse,” “Roar,” “Hot N Cold,” and “Firework.”

The show includes a “Choose Your Own Adventure” section, where fans can vote on an era and song from Katy‘s past. On opening night, she performed “The One That Got Away” from Teenage Dream!

Katy‘s tour will take her through Mexico, the United States, Australia, Canada, South America, England, Europe, China and the United Arab Emirates all the way to December of this year.

The annual awards ceremony will return for a 36th year in 2025. According to GLAAD, it’s goal is to “recognize and honor fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the LGBTQ community in an ever-expanding and media landscape.”

On Wednesday (January 22), the organization revealed the crop of nominees that would be honored at the ceremony. While projects such as Wicked and Queer were notably featured, Netflix’s Emilia Perez was left off the list.

The snub comes after GLAAD declared that the movie, which stars Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez and trans actress Karla Sofia Gascon, was “not good trans representation” in a November 2024 essay. The story included reviews from transgender film critics and noted that “inauthentic portrayals of trans people are offensive and even dangerous.”

BBC Studios’ Scripted Formats, Documentaries Head Abroad

BBC Studios Global Entertainment has licensed the drama “Doctor Foster” and comedy series “Ghosts” in Greece. The former, a BAFTA-winning psychological drama about a doctor whose outwardly perfect life implodes after she discovers her husband has been unfaithful, will star Marilita Lambropoulou in the lead role and Nikos Kouris as her husband. The original series was written and created by Mike Bartlett and produced by Drama Republic. It has already been successfully adapted in France, Japan, the Philippines, Slovakia, South Korea, Mena and Turkey. ANT1 TV and Silverline Media Productions will produce the Greek version.

“Ghosts,” originally produced by Monumental Television in association with Them There for BBC One, turns on a young couple that inherit a haunted mansion. Celebrated Greek screenwriter Theodore Petropoulos is penning the local adaptation, which Tanweer Productions will produce. It will air on Star Channel in autumn 2025.

Videoland, a streaming platform owned by Rtl Netherlands, will produce a Dutch adaptation of the popular dating show “I Kissed a Girl.” The format features single queer women searching for romance. The local version will be the first produced outside of the original UK series.

Laurens Woldberg, managing director of ITV Studios Netherlands which will produce the show, said the adaptation “offers great entertainment and an important platform for representation.” He explained it will showcase diverse relationships and help increase LGBTQ+ visibility on Dutch television.

The show follows women paired through compatibility testing. Their first interaction is a kiss to see if they feel a spark. This determines how their time on the show will unfold. Casting for the Dutch series is currently underway. It will film in 2025 and premiere exclusively on Videoland.

The success of the UK version streaming on Videoland suggests audiences in the Netherlands want more inclusive content.

Exclusive: A local I Kissed A Girl will play in the Netherlands after Rtl greenlit a version of the LGBTQ+ dating format for its streaming service Videoland.

The show, from Twofour, originated in the UK as I Kissed a Boy. It was the first British dating series with only gay men competing. It is hosted by Australian singer and presenter Dannii Minogue and gave rise to spin-off show I Kissed a Girl.

The finished UK series play on Videoland in the Netherlands and Rtl has now stepped up and ordered a local version for its Ott service. Casting for the Dutch series is underway, and it will shoot and premiere next year on Videoland.

Federation Stories U.K. has appointed Beth Warin as the new head of development for the company. Warin will work alongside Polly Williams, managing director, and will be responsible for the company’s international drama production slate.

Warin joins from the BBC where she was drama commissioning executive, supporting commissioning editors Jo McClellan and Gaynor Holmes editorially across their slates including “Lockerbie” and “The Night Manager” Season 2.
