Watched it on quiet Sunday night. I didn't have much expectations from a Punjabi Film but it was advertised well so I gave it a try. I was really impressed with acting. All lead actors were great. I especially liked Reema Nagra that plays an immigrant girl being a Canadian. It was very well done storyline. It was quite entertaining in the beginning. Although it is a drama film, it does hold the audience and audience cannot figure out what is going to happen next that is best part of the storyline. Camera work is awesome. I liked song Chann, very beautifully shot. It was a little long film but given it unfolds at right times, it was OK to sit for a little longer. Other than that it is a nicely done film and must watch for especially Punjabi audience. It brings the needed change in punjabi/Hindi films overseas. A must watch.
As Punjabi audience witnessed opening of the film along with Canadian International FTV Festival on November 12 and highlighted on prestigious print media such as straight.com and toronto.com. The film proves to be the most intriguing Punjabi film in the history of Punjabi Cinema. Vick (Harpreet Sandhu) handles the film throughout with international class acting skills along with edgy performance of Dimple (Reema Nagra). Other lead Dilbag Brar has done an exceptionally good job. The supporting cast of the film really supports as pillars and moves the story forward in a very smooth manner. Acting skill of Harpreet Sandhu has proved to be par excellence. Never has it happened in the Punjabi Cinema that an actor of his caliber has been seen. His jawdropping performance as Vick wins him a nomination as best actor at Canada International FTV festival award and leaves the jury with an everlasting impression of Punjabi actor.

The direction of the film also wins a nomination at the awards and scenes are well executed with absolutely no flaws. The scene at the intermission really makes it's mark when you see the female audience crying at the interval. This brings Harpreet Sandhu at the forefront of Punjabi Cinema as the most promising film director of all time. Reema Nagra has also done an exceptionally good job in acting with one nomination win as best actress at the festival. She plays well the role of a Canadian immigrant girl who twists her tongue to pull off Canadian accent and at times she becomes successful. She has firm grip on the character. Dilbag Brar acts as third pillar and supports the film throughout with real life character.
Oh man, I entered the cinema without any particular film in mind. Saw the poster and under it said punjabi film. There were few other films that I already had watched last week and a few new ones. I entered the theatre for work weather wife. Art pure art. I have watched Hindi cinema from before my birth that was called parallel cinema. Film is so unpredictable and held me to the seat till the end. The acting of all three lead actors is amazing. Story is intriguing and I had to read some subtitled for hard core punjabi in it. Other than that it is a great film. Lead actor Harpreet Sandhu carries the film on his shoulders, other two justify the character well. There isn't any boring moment through the film but I enjoyed the songs as well. It seems to be shot in Vancouver. Other thing I really liked was music, excellent romantic stuff.
Had a chance to check this out at edmonton movies 12 cineplex north side. Poster seemed interesting so I got in. Really loved the storyline, called a few friends to join in the for next show. wonderful cinematic masterpiece. As soon as the first scene finishes, I couldn't hold my laugh but as the film goes on it becomes more and more gripping. I was very impressed with the storyline and unpredictability of the story. the direction is awesome and camera-work is wonderful. I really loved lead actor harpreet's acting. other lead guy dilbag was awesome too. Reema Nagra did wonderful job creating an immigrant girl character. this film is a must watch for the normal punjabi people living in canada. this definitely is cinema at it's peak. i wish the film best and hope they'll bring better and better films next time.
