    Excellent movie

It is an excellent well shot entertaining children movie. The actors all played their part really well. The background music adds to the charm. The spirit of the original story is well maintained. It is a crisp film that keeps the audience hooked from the start to the finish. The supporting cast does their job well. Special mention to the actor who played TNT and the detective from an agency. The wonder boy Nayan is very well cast and really fits his character well. Kudos to the actor playing the magician. He brings his character to light superbly. Finally the main trio - Felu, Tapesh and Jatayu make a much improved performance post their last outing - Hatya Puri. Overall it is an excellent film and highly recommended especially for children.

The torture to the "Nayan" - the weakest Feluda film

Nayan Rohosso fails to capture the essence of a compelling detective film. With a weak plotline (the novel was weak anyway, but Sandip Ray didn't change anything or tweak it to make it any better) and uninspired execution, it struggles to engage from start to finish. The performances lack depth (Indranil was better in Hatyapuri but here he wasn't in his form, and same goes for rest of the cast) and the camerawork fails to add any visual interest. Despite its potential, the adaptation falls flat, offering little to redeem itself. Throughout the film, we are left wanting suspense, mystery, and the thrill of solving a case alongside the protagonist. Unfortunately, "Nayan Rohosso" misses the mark entirely, leaving viewers disappointed and unfulfilled. I can't believe Sandip Ray gave us Bombayier Bombetey and Tintorettor Jishu. Overall, it's a forgettable Feluda experience that fails to leave a lasting impression. Sandip Ray should handpick some other director for the next one.

    Better than the Book

Which is the best Feluda movie? 70% people will say Sonar Kella. And that is the correct answer. But is the film better than the novel Sonar Kella? No way. Rather its a little shorter than the story. Joy Baba Felunath could not even come close to the novel. The canvas of stories is much larger than life. So no film from Sonar Kella to Hatyapuri is better than the original story.

But what a hullabaloo! This is the first time an adaptation has overshadowed its original story. Yes, what you are reading is true. Sandip Ray's experienced direction has made the impossible possible. But one of the reasons is definitely that this story belongs to the last Feluda stories when God's health was going through a very tough time. Hence the subsequent stories after Golapi Mukta Rahasya are not so popular among the readers. But even in that situation God did not deprive us of Feluda. He wrote until the last day of his life...

Leave that context. Let me tell you why this movie is better than the story:-

    1. The thrill I felt while watching the film, I did not while reading the story.

    2. The story does not analyze the motive for the prime crime. Here it is understood why the crime took place.

    3. Indraneil Sengupta's eloquence spills over a bit between Topse and Jatayu in this film.

    4. Supriyo Dutta. What an actor this guy is, now people will understand. TNT is an outstanding character which is a challenge for any actor. Had God been alive, he would have certainly taken Harindranath Chatterjee and he would have sensationalized the audience with his overacting. But portraying such a crazy character so fluently was not easy at all.

    5. Abhinaba Barua. The nayan of Nayan literally speaks. A worthy successor of Mukul has been found so far.

    6. Director creates terror in the audience by only showing close-ups of hands and feet of Gawangi.

    7. A little glimpse of Robertsoner Ruby. The sequence of Naskar hypnotising Jatayu has been recreated in Tarafdar's magic show.

Also, the performances of Debnath Chatterjee and Rajesh Sharma will keep the audience hooked.

So is this film Sandip Ray's best Feluda?

No, it's not. Bombaiyer Bombete, Tintorettor Jishu, Gorosthane Sabdhan and Royal Bengal Rahasya - these four are on a different level. But Sandip Sir's expertise is in making a tight film from such a relatively weak story.

    It's a joke!

Nayan Rahasya" is a singularly bad movie that fails on almost every level. It's disheartening to see this level of trash produced under the guise of honoring the legendary Satyajit Ray. The film attempts to evoke the spirit of Ray's storytelling but falls woefully short, offering a muddled plot and lackluster direction that would make Ray turn in his grave.

The basic plot, which might have held some promise in a different context, collapses in the modern hotel setting chosen by the director. The narrative logic is compromised, making the story incoherent and unconvincing, leaving the audience confused and dissatisfied. The director's decision not to adapt the film appropriately to fit its contemporary setting is a glaring oversight. Instead of creatively reimagining Ray's original vision to suit modern sensibilities, the film lazily transposes an outdated plot into a setting where it simply does not belong-this lack of adaptation results in numerous plot holes and a pervasive sense of disjointedness throughout the film.

And don't even get me started on the casting.... In essence, "Nayan Rahasya" is a disappointment on nearly all fronts. It's a misguided attempt to cash in on the legacy of Satyajit Ray. If you're considering watching this movie, I urge you to reconsider. Please save your money or, better yet, donate it to a good cause where it can do some actual good.

Well crafted film and a pleasure to watch as usual

Nayan Rahasya is the first Feluda film ever to hit the theatres in the summer. The film is a pleasant addition to the Feluda franchise. The film opens with a magic show and introduces us to the wonderboy Nayan. Feluda, Topshe and Jatayu soon get into a rescue act as it becomes apparent that Nayan has a bunch of stalkers all queuing up to get hold of him and use his special ability for their own purposes. What follows is a trip to South Indian city of Chennai and the story ends with Feluda and his team saving Nayan from harms way and bring justice to the guilty party. All the support cast fitted their role to a T and the main trio Indranil, Ayush and Avijit brings a much improved performance after their first outing in the last movie Hatyapuri. The cinematography is a treat and brings the city of Mahabalipuram as a fresh character in the film. The background music adds to the charm and nostalgia and overall it is an excellent addition to the film series and is a must watch for all Feluda fans especially children.
