"I Drew You" is a horror short film built around the concept of a social media influencer who draws people while they're commuting on a train, then gives them the portraits-which are usually impressively detailed and accurate. There's actually a real-world YouTube channel called Devon Rodriguez that features this exact type of content, and I suspect this short film was heavily inspired by it.
In the film, we follow the main character as he receives a portrait of himself from a woman who appears to be the influencer. But soon, he begins to notice that something strange is happening-and it's not good.
I really liked the cinematography in this short. It's quite experimental, switching between a social media video perspective and a more traditional cinematic point of view, where we observe as an invisible third party. These transitions are well done, and the horrific experiences the man goes through are simple yet beautifully executed.
A very nice short film for its genre.
